I bought this because I really like Ravens, and I'm really disappointed.

I tried a bunch of reasonable builds, ie ones that have proper armor, move at least 130kph and have ammo enough to deal at least a theoretical 750 damage (which I consider pretty low for a 100% ammo dependent mech.)

There weren't many options that would fill these criterias. Without ECM, any sort of brawling attempts are usually suicides, so with those you end up waiting most of the match and hope that your team doesn't die 8-0 while you're trying to find an opportune moment. When maxed, this could somehow work if you want to stick to the fatties and protect them from enemy lights or something.

Then there's AC2 + 3x MG, that is so-so, requires you to deal damage 1 point at a time from 1km away most of the match, and unless the match is really long you probably end up with pretty pathetic damage numbers. On a positive note, the DPS is decently mean if someone gets close.

I tried 4x MG + 2x LRM5, 10 LRMs usually won't get past the typical AMS umbrella your enemies will have. Harrassing with this was pretty entertaining, but contribution to team damage was quite saddening.

The clearly best results I got with a 2x LRM10 Huginn, consistently dealing about 400-500 damage per match. It's fast enough to get into good firing positions and 20 LRMs is enough to get at least some past the AMS. Sadly, putting 4x LRM5 in an Oxide will gain you higher DPS while allowing you to carry one ton more ammo, so even this isn't a reason to own this piece of garbage.

I ended up with 2.0 KDR for 9 matches, but felt I would've done better in an Ember, Oxide or even Knell. This is the worst light mech hero by far.

It looks nice but man is it bad. I don't see myself piloting this for any reason after I have it mastered.

That's one of the builds I came up with in smurfy when trying to find something that the Huginn could do, I think mine was dual lrm 15s.

The problem being is why would I really want to play that Huginn after I master it just like your thinking now.

Espically as we move to this 3/3/3/3 format and a Treb or Shawk or Wolverine or Griffin makes a much better LRM platform and feels like a waste of a light mech slot on a Huginn..

So, it's april 2nd and that "thing" is still out there... so no april fools joke after all?...
No wonder Odin lost to Jesus having this by his side...

No seriously, this build does simply not make any sense at all, and it's been 16 hours now that I'm utterly disappointed,
because like most Raven-Players I have been waiting for this for so long.

Lets Hope there'll be a Kick-Ass Muninn, perhaps the two of them will transform together into a Ultra Raven, Power Ranger Style, otherwise the Raven chassis is doomed

Might have been an interesting non energy variant of the 3L - If it had had ECM.
Or even if it had had a single energy hardpoint.

But as is - mmmmmm - its got an interesting paintjob - thats the best i can say.

If it had at least a single energy hardpoint then I would buy it - but as it stands, this is one Hero mech I am not purchasing.

Options to improve this Hero's weapon loadout
1) Add 1 energy hardpoint
2) Replace 1 missile hardpoint with 1 energy hardpoint
3) Replace 2 ballistic hardpoints with 2 energy hardpoints

An aggressively used light tends to burn to ammunition. For example, my Spider-5K generally consumes 2 to 2.5 tons of MG ammo per match (My 5K uses a Medium Pulse Laser instead of the ER Large Laser), and sometimes I use all 3 tons of MG ammo. But that is not a problem as I have my Medium Pulse Laser to continue fighting.

All the huginn needs is ECM. The ECM would help allow the mech to get into the suicide ranges it needs to use its short ranged weapons and give it better anti-light utility, it's also a bloody raven to boot the premiere ECM mech. Of all the hero mechs this should be the mech to get ECM as it is so wanting. ECM wouldn't bring it over the edge despite PGI's ECM aversion.
