Greetings Mechwarriors,

We know that there are many groups of there with the name Wolf’s Dragoons. It is, after all, one of the most widely known Mercenary groups in the Battle Tech universe. That is why we decided to make a group that is modeled after them. We are currently starting out and are looking for players that are willing to join us. You do not need to be a veteran player to join, as we are more than willing to help teach those new to the game the basic skills that will help them strive.

Since we are just starting out, we are in no position to throw our names into the competitive scene. Though one day we do hope to get to that level. That being said, we are more than happy to do cross training with other units and/or houses, plus work with other units/houses for competitive drops, if/when we have the man power to do so. The reason for this is simple. I would like to actually try to establish some sort of Mercenary reputation, even before CW comes out.

If you are interested in Joining Wolf’s Dragoons, please follow the link provided. Even if you have no intention of joining, feel free to check us out, we also accept applications for emissaries from other units, so that communication can be achieved.

As a side note, I understand the application process may seem odd, but it has a purpose. We simply wish to do three drops with potential members to make sure that they fit a standard that myself, and co-Commander are looking for. I know this sounds a bit odd, seeing as we are willing to take on brand new players, but it does serve a purpose, trust me. I thought that Wolf Dragoon's was going to be one of PGI's reserved Merc Unit names. Did that change?

It may be, it may not be. My friend and I just wanted to make the Mercenary unit because it struck a cord with us. If PGI does "reserve" the name and it becomes an issue, then we may look at amending it. However, for the moment, we will keep it.

There are at least 4 other major/competitive sub-units of the Dragoon's already in existence and many more smaller units. Did you ever think of joining up with them? The early talk was that it was going to a reserved PGI name so consensus was to not use it . Since you are just getting off the ground i would suggest a name adjustment, for respect to the other units that have been here for years.

Pending review of the Council, the name shall remain as it is until such time that either PGI states that we are bared from such a name, or until the Council can agree upon a name with which to replace the current one. We regret that it has offended other members of the community, old and new alike.

After a vote by the Council, we have changed our name to keep community politics, and possible backlash from PGI, to a minimum.

We will know be known as Wolf's Dragoons: Sanguinem Lupos

Do you have a Council? The IS-Clan nature of the Wolf's Dragoons often lead to new and interesting way to organize player units.

I do not see why someone should have such a problem with the name.. The Dragoons have several regiments. Clan Wolf has like 6-7 player units representing different Galaxies and units..

Besides, in the CW presentation they said that players will be eventually able to join Wolf's Dragoons.. So i would like to see more units representing them

Aff we do, though small as it may be for the moment. It is part of a system of "Checks and Balances".

I believe that the problem lies with just calling one's group Wolf's Dragoons, rather than declaring as part of a unit within the group, much like most clan/house units have done.

I believe that trying to differentiate the Wolf's Dragoons unite around here would not be too troubling. Shoot a PM or two

Someone might even represent Zeta Battalion..

The Dragoons are one of my favourite factions so i want to see it thriving in MWO too.

Making one hard centralized unit would be rather hard, but the more of us there are I would say the better.

They are one of my favorite units as well, and would love to see more of them.
