Most notably, the Flea which is just waiting for MASC to be released.
And only releasing select mechs that are incapable of reaching around 112-115kph top speed.
So that's anything heavy+ can have it.
Some mediums if you limit by frame.
But then, people will complain because they can't get the mechs they wanted, and it still runs the risk of crippling the engine like when they tried it in testing before.
The main problem with the Std60 Engine system (from what I've gathered) is that it doesn't use an automated equation for size, just a set limit, so to fix that, they just need to adjust the low end, and enter in those entries, then adjust it as needed if negative weight is a problem (i.e., put in 2 fixed heatsinks or something).
This is simply a problem with their existing code, rather than an issue with the game engine being able to cope.

1- Coding the equipment, the lock up chance, and the way it works. (I personally suggested that visually it would be a third gauge like JJs, and cool shot)
2- Mechs clocking in at over 200Kph. Going over 180 causes a lot of problems for hit detection already. Imagine the flea running at over 240Kph. The pilot is gonna be blind for sure, but anyone trying to hit them is gonna get into a rage-induced epileptic seizure that would kill them, and anyone within a three mile radius.
On more important thing though: WE NEED THE URBIE!!!

What we really need is a MASC Fueled, Re-engineered Flamer Wielding, Psychotically Quirked Urbie of the Apocalypse with an AC/10 that fires like a Rotary AC/5! Oh, and don't forget to give it an Urbie-Nuke Arrow IV Missile System on top of it, because EVERYTHING should suffer at the hands of the Urbanmech!

Russ alluded in a Town Hall a while back that they were moving away from individual releases, and would be releasing packs from now on. It was not definitive, but that was the gist of his comments.

On the other hand - I bought the packs more for the other bonuses, so...

That's not what my girlfriend said. She said she doesn't want to play MW: O with me until I am driving a Hatamoto Chi with a sword.
and I do not even like that mech or expect it to have a sword when it... ever... comes out.
Let me quote a pink fluffy cartoon dog that only kids of the 90's will know.
"The things I do for love"
Anyway... Urbie is coming in his own pack?... fantastic... I hate to see that news because I can't buy packs for MC or gift cards.
I am practically running around begging with an old paper cup for the panther pack and failed to do it for clan wave 1 pack and promise the equivalent in steam games later on... No one takes my offer... I curse the day PGI decided that gift cards can't gift people in MW: O or get packs.
All those karma koin sales and stuff and you can't buy any pack for karma koin...

He actually said in the last town hall that individual mech sales will still be around. But they will be more like the vindicator and King crab where they act as gap fillers in between pack releases.
Which makes more sense given Battletech's line up. Mechs in battletech aren't arranged in tidy, evenly distributed "light, medium, heavy, assault" bundles as they would need them to be. Battletech has a HUGE amount of medium mechs, a slightly low amount of light mechs, and a fairly even distribution on heavies and assaults that is complicated in 3050 given how many IS heavies are branded as unseen. Which makes mediums and assaults suddenly a bit top heavy compared to the other chassis'.
Packs make sense, and I'm not going to be-grudge them their means of creating revenue for themselves to further develop the game, but they are going to have to keep the individual mech releases there otherwise they are going to run out of light mechs to bundle quick. Or simply accept that a mass amount of medium mechs will never see the light of day in MWO because they can't bundle them with other chassis'.

think he made some other comment after that didn't know because i was busy taking out the rear armor on a stormcrow and killing it while it shot something else. now 3 of us vs one jenner, jenner tries to flee, boom ac10 round takes out it's leg but i couldn;t get the kill. spider urbie- 2 kills, 6 assists, 248 dmg. 1 round of ac 10 ammo left. guy who dared question the might of spider-urbie- under 200 dmg 0 kills , couple assists.
side note- i find i seem to hit legs on lights much better in lights mechs with less weapons than i do in my multi-lasers bigger weight classed mechs. maybe because i only have to lead without worrying about lowering my aim at the same time.
