As with many mechs, PGI's artists seem to have done a decent job dressing up an ugly design. The problem is, part of the Urbanmech's appeal comes from its portly aesthetic. Out of concern that PGI would try to slim it up, I started a poll to gauge how players would like the Urbanmech to look:

http://mwomercs.com/...ics-and-design/

According to the poll (and only counting players who preordered), over 90% of the voters preferred the trashcan look and 100% of the voters wanted it to be smaller rather than bigger.

Yes. It should be shorter and fatter than the Spider.

I was making a joke about the urbie being too tall in that sketch. Guess I need to work on my joke skills.

I like the new interpretation of the design. It's a sleek modern redesign that isn't as punishing when it comes to hitboxes.

Actually I think too tall is the right constructive criticism. For licensing reasons I assume that PGI can't directly lift the art and by extension design from any FASA sources (hence the tweaks to the house and clan banners) so they need to create something new in the same spirit. But in this case the spirit of the UrbanMech is a chubby little trashcan.

My suggestion would be a small amount of weight added just below the torso gyro as 'Lily from animove' suggested but also reduce the length of the legs by roughly a kneecap. There are a couple of reasons to shorten the legs: First it helps exaggerate the torso, making the mech seem fatter. Second it provides a unique quirk for movement since the UrbanMech is supposed to be slower then other lights. Instead of striding along on long legs like a spider it should be shuffling around on stubby little legs. Third the smaller legs and thus smaller leg hitboxes have a practical purpose, helping it to survive since legs are a light mechs most vulnerable area.

I figured that, but the problem is, MWOs weapon scaling is not uniform, and the AC10 on a Heavy is bigger than the one on a light.
Hell, in the image I did, the Centurion has an AC10 too, that's still smaller than the Urbs one there.

Considering the AC10 is nearly half the mechs weight, the Urbie should be ridiculously tiny. I mean like this small but with the cannon arm made larger. It should look comically out of proportion with its tiny engine and huge gun.Posted Image

I will try - but I have only used twitter once before, and I am not sure I used it right then.

Edit: Got a link to that?
Or should I just send a new tweet or whatever to him?
