It will be as usefull as "Pinpoint" skill where all mechs have instant convergence.

He is talking about Twist X, not Twist Speed. Twist X should have no use on the Urbanmech.

And so Kmieciu is right, as twist x increases the yaw angle the torso can twist, meaning it's useless on the urbie, as it has 360° torso twist. Exactly as pinpoint, that should increase the speed at which weapons converge on the target, but is useless as we have instant convergence.

That is an 'urban' legend. Convergence is NOT instantaneous, as is evidenced many a time when I fire twin ANYTHING at a 'close' target immediately after having switched from aiming at a 'far' target. More often than not and depending on how long the delay is, my shots will pass on either side of the target.

Convergence is 'fast' but no where near "instantaneous"...

Well, technically, 360° twist only means that it can go 360° around, then stop. People just usually associate that with the ability to continuously spin around, but if you consider all of the cabling in the waist of a robot, that may or may not be the actual case depending on how it is designed.

I am still hoping that we can get the spins-like-a-top super disco rave-y lazor mech.

Actually there's plenty of turret systems and the like that can function twisting over and over in a 360 degree circle, without having to stop and turn around.

It's a simple matter of how the connectors are designed.

Or in the case of some systems, using wireless communication (something like Bluetooth) to take the place of direct wiring.

It's a solved problem even today, let alone 1,000 years in the future.

Maybe tip up and down more? That could be useful in the stubby Urbie.

True, but lasers are also invisible to the human eye today. Who knows how they will build myomer bundles 1,000 years from now :-)

MOST lasers are, most of the time, as you know a lot depends on frequency of light chosen for the laser and atmospheric conditions...

I really want to get some private matches with Urbies riding on top of Direwolves so we can do some R2D2 turret jousting.
