Hi everyone, this weekend I've been busy with my Locust which resulted in this article/guide. I think it's a good read and has a few good tips for those who want to check out/return to Locusts. It's probably a bit too long to post here and without proper formatting, probably not as fun to read as well.

Caveat emptor: Regardless of what you do, the mech can be 1-shot by most heavies and assaults. Heck, lights can leg it in ~two passes. Good pilots will just take that shot, without actually chasing you. The Locust requires both skill and luck to do any good, making it strictly worse than other lights, especially the 35-tonners.

I love my Locusts, but I hate them too - they've been the mechs that have been very fun but the most frustrating to play.
It's really the stupid amount of damage you take while running. Hit a bump too hard and you risk losing a leg, god forbid you fall over a ledge or something. I've been legged getting bumped into by teammates that didn't see me as they came rolling through. If PGI ever addresses this, I'll be a happy man.
Although the more I read, the more I think that I may need to invest in a 170XL. I've been running the 190XL in all of my Locusts, figuring that I'd need every ounce of speed I could get. But maybe that's the wrong approach, and that extra ton of guns could be crucial.

YEah I picked this weekend to power play my Locust 1V(p) because it's the last one I need to elite the lot. I swear it's been awesome, three games over 1800 exp! I think it is the hardest Locust to use. I'm not great with it but it is an exciting play.
The most rocken Locust I have is the my boltThrower , M3!
ER large
Med Laser
2 Sml Lasers
4 double Heat sinks
170XL
Adv Zoom
Artty striike
FFA
ESS
It's a great sniper and works well on scaring off the lights, just don't engage them you will loose. The 2 SMLs scare them off every time.
No one can see you sniping...your too small WOOOOOOT!
I wish all the best to any brave souls who stick out the Elite Training, You are the Few and Proud!
Rock on BRO!
FEK315...OUT!
