Just had an idea. Two teams face off. Both have to do something, like transport or capture, or destroy, get X something etc to the dropship. Then after that they have to reach a randomly placed "dropship" that deploys when the objective is reach to get out in order to win.

If dropship is blown up, only way to win is to fight it to the death.

This would give mechs with hands something to do. Would spice up the capture, where victory with capture of 1 barely alive mech makes no sense, etc. THis would be a better capture type mode for community warefare.

The only problem I have with "escort x someplace" as an objective is, unless it's particularly tanky, the poptarts will easily destroy it with ludicrous FLD pinpoint alphas. Or someone will drop arty in the pre-determined path and laugh.

Otherwise I love the idea.

Check out this thread:

Essentially just what you describe is talked about in there.

And, yes, it would be amazing if we got some game modes that are really about more than killing the other team.

Personally I'd like for PGI to expand Assault into a dual mode. When one team loses, the match starts over again, except the losing team's objective is to retreat to their Dropships. Like Titanfall.
