Hi.

For example i have 6 medium lasers. 3 on right hand and 3 on left. Also have 4 srms on torso. I'd like to fire lasers in chain mode from both hands by left mouse button and srms by right mouse button.
As i remember in MW4 was a possibility to combine weapon groups:
1st w/group - 3 left lasers
2nd w/group - 4 srms
3d w/group - 3 right lasers

1st and 2nd groups sets to chain mode and linked up, so by pressing left mouse button fires 3 times by 2 lasers from both hands.

Is it possible (will be possible) in MWO?

Thanks,
Sergii.

Yes, you can set up weapongroups by using the keyboard arrow buttons to select the weapons and weapon group number. the Right CTRL button selects or deselects the weapon for the currently highlighted position. By pressing the backspace button you can switch between chainfire and group fire for the currently selected weapon group.

The best thing is to set this up in the testing grounds and not at the start of a match as you will endanger your teammates backs and be wasting SRM ammunition if you are not careful.

Thnks,

I've already understood how to move weapons between group and how to enable chain mode.
The question is - how to fire 2 weapon groups by left mouse button at one time?

You can not link two weapon groups to one button or key directly in MWO. To do that, you would need to make a macro with separate software, e.g. Autohotkey.

BTW, group selection is also available in the mechlab now. No need to do it during a match.

I have a G9x gaming mouse, so I have a couple extra buttons on its side. For my CDA with 6xmlas, I set group/button 4 to fire 2 left and 1 center, and group/button 5 to fire 2 right and the other center. Both groups are set to chain fire. So, I can hold both side buttons down and continuously fire 2 lasers on rotation. Works good on Mordor where alphaing repeatedly with M1 and M2 would be an issue.

Also, holding down a side button for TAG is more conformable than the mouse wheel, that's for sure.

You can mix mouse buttons with keys, and cleverly set up groups to work around this problem. 1-3 are my key weapon groups, and the other 3 are only on mouse buttons. This was -- so far -- enough for any mech, including very silly mechs with 4 distinct weapon groups. Note also that different groups can contain some of the same weapons, and you are free to set up chain fire separately.

In case of the 9ML Hunchback, you set up one group for the arms, one for the head, and one for the hunch. Firing more than 6 MLs at the same incurs a heavy heat penalty, so you would not want to do that anyway -- the hunch has the perfect number. The arms are separate for easy tracking of far off or fast targets. The head is pure backup. You may want to experiment with connecting it with the arms.

You don't have to load the training grounds to adjust weapon groups anymore. From the main UI, click "mechlab", select mech, click "configure" below it, click "weapons group". Don't forget to save settings.

I've already found it. Thanks.

is it possible to set the same button for several weapon groups in settings?

As said before, no. I simply use mouse buttons and keys together when needed. Some mechs will have the left/right arm stuff on left/right click, for example. This takes a bit of practice, but is perfectly doable.

4 to 6 button mouse is great for this sort of thing.
Group 1, left click.
Group 3, second left mouse button.
Want to fire 'em at once? Click 'em both.

Yeah, my suggestion is to put each set of lasers on each mouse button with your srms on another mouse button if you have it or else a keyboard key. I use left shift for group 3 and use it primarily for missiles or auxillary weapons (usually torso mounted).
