Solved in previous patch by uninstall/reinstall. After installing latest patch, problem recurs. First attempt at Testing Grounds after start is problem-free. Next attempt results in perpetual "Connecting..." message on screen, including opaque masking of all other information on screen. UNABLE to click any selection from ESC menu, and must ctrl+alt+del to exit MWO from Windows Task Manager.
Temporary solution? Exit game after one turn in Testing Grounds, and restart.
