Drop ship descends and lands way out of the defense grid of what some would call a city. Other's would call it a slum. Anyone that's been there knows what goes on there can't be called civilized.
A ragged character sits in the cockpit of his mech and wonders if the time is right to do what has to be done.
Didn't take long to decipher the codes and refit the mechs found in the Brian Cache that they stumbled upon. Some in the successor states might see this as a way towards restoring the Star League.
Hopper only sees it as a way to assume his rightful spot on the edge of space.

What's funny, is that, for most of the match, our Pugs were cussing us for sitting still and fighting y'all like that. They couldn't hear any of our TS communications and had no way of knowing that we were planning maneuvers and firing corridors and such. When the game ended, one of them said, "Well, that was a surprise!"
That was a tough fight! I thought y'all had us for a minute there. We need to do that again sometime!
I got it all on vid too. When I get it posted to YouTube, I'll link it here for you guys.

they ignore the rumblings in their belly, while they seek out the weakest, the slowest moving, the unaware.
3 days in the cockpit can take a toll on a unit. But those that defected with him weren't deterred. They'd struggled through McIntyre's ridiculous excuses and poor opsec when it came to "covert" missions. How many times had they run into a trap and only to escape and get berated for incompetence? What was supposed to be agri-mechs, a few tanks and small arms usually ended up being seasoned merc units.
Cirion's coup in '41 was a joke. Poorly planned and ended up paving the way for this small group of Black Warriors to basically walk away from the Federation.
The scouts returned and reported that there was only setry towers as expected. The Lyran's had indeed forgotten about this place. Another planet not on any star charts.
As with Pain, the time was now to add The Rack to King Hopper's holdings.

Everything is going good Ayridynn. Just had a drop against Nightmare yesterday and that was a very fun battle! Too bad we lost but I still want to see the battle from his side.
Hopper you have awesome stories that you put up here and I eagerly await the next piece for me to read!

For some reason, it's very grainy. I used a new video maker, and it was by far the sharpest vid I've made to date on my PC. However, once YouTube got it, the vid went all to grains and splotches. If any of y'all have a remedy for this, I'm all ears!
By the way, watch for my double kill on Lord Curmudgeon and Luigi. It was half-accident, half-intentional. You could say that I wasn't sure which one to shoot first, so I fired at one and then switch targets. It was pretty cool.
I guess this makes us even now, considering the trouncing y'all gave us last time on Crimson Strait. We need a third match for the tie-breaker!
Out of curiosity, how many Brethren were in that drop? I only recognize four of y'all's names, but you're spread between two lances. Did y'all have an eight-man?

"You guys see the list of names? Well, do not engage Capt. Killian Hook, Luigi, Count Zero, Lord Curmudgeon...[etc.] without support! They're The Brethren, and if you think you've only got one to tangle with, think again! There's probably a couple of more hidden around the corner waiting for you. Stay tight and stay focused, and we can win, but it's gonna be a hard fight!"
...And it was.
Also, for Luigi's ears, I told my boys to watch out for him most of all because he was a ring-tailed terror in his Light Mechs. Then he goes and shows up piloting a Cataphract.
When I saw that, I wasn't sure whether to feel dread or relief. I've never seen him pilot anything bigger than a Light Mech, and couldn't make up my mind whether that Cataphract would bode for good or ill for my team!

I thought it was a good match too - very close game! I didn't know that regarding you and your 'Phract. For me, Hunchies are the same. I bought my first one, the venerable 4G that I ran in that match, back when I joined MWO's Closed Beta. It was the first Mech I ever bough and, as you can see, I still own and operate it.
I love my Lights too! The Commando is one of my favorites (the second Chassis I ever bought - still have the original one too!) although I also greatly enjoy my Locusts. Few things are more fun than launching yourself off a cliff at 170 kph and imagining that you're a fighter jet! Of course, landings aren't so hot, but as long as I do it in the Training Grounds, it's okay, right?

Make sure it isn't too long before you stop by this page again eh? Haha.
Great stuff, apologies for my silliness when I hopped in comms during their match, I sort of bombed the entire video poking fun at my members and making sure they all were granted a greeting haha, I had no idea they had dropnight already under way..
The officers and I are going to be working on a timetable for when we will be able to run soft competitions and scrims More to follow.
