I had been playing since closed beta but left the game back in January due to lack of any meaningful progress on the game. Fast forward till today, I downloaded all the new updates. I spent about 15 minutes looking around the new lobby when I noticed; under Skills - MechTree = It only showed me progress on the 3 mechs I currently own !?!?
I have mastered dozens of mech chassis - how many dozens? I don't know? I can't tell you because the game isn't showing the status of any mechs I don't physically own.
Is this a bug?
Please tell me this is a bug, because I have no way of knowing what mech to not accidentally buy again. And I'm certainly not going to guess.
HUGE deal breaker. I can't / won't play again until this is fixed. Is it being fixed? worked on?
I did do a search before posting this and found nothing immediate after UI2.0 - the search on this forum **** as well however, no filters what so ever.

The data is still there. You just can't see it without a mech. I master the cents long ago. When I got the free one it was still mastered.

depends. if you have stopped playing during closed betta then you should know they had a game reset, in which everybody lost all their progress including mechs. however cbills were given instead.

So it isn't just me then.
This is going to be a big problem I think for a lot of players that may have taken a break from the game and are now looking back at it again, after all the recent updates over the last few months. If the game won't show them progress they have already made on previous mechs, how are they to move forward if they can't remember all they have already done? After all, mastering mechs is still (2.5 years later) the only real achievements we seem to have in the game!
I understand this won't affect the collectors, who buy every mech and keep them. Including all the money they spend for slots. But I don't have the money as a casual gamer to buy 100+ slots; nor would I. I think I have like 7 slots.
And anyone that has made detailed records of their progress in the game, externally from the game, should have no problems figuring it out. But who the hell does that?
I see that UI2.0 came out a few patches ago. I just can't believe there has not been a discussion about this yet. And/or it hasn't been addressed yet.
Is everyone dropping a few hundred dollars in this game and have rows & rows of mech slots? Maybe this game is just way to rich for my blood.
Maybe others just don't care to play but a few mechs, even after they mastered them? I have to have variety & challenge.
[edit]: Got a response from support. They know about the issue and are working on it.

I noticed this just after the stat reset so I couldn't even see what mech's I had used at all. You can kina guess from archived stats.

I was planning to make a thread on this a while back. However, due to being busy with things, and asking other people in game I got lazy about making a thread. Glad you made a thread. I was rather panicy when I didn't see any of my previous mechs mastered. So much so that I needed a small break from MWO even though I was craving MWO action earlier that day and was coming off from another game.
Unimportant stuff:
I've mastered Catapult, Atlas, almost finished on Cataphract now, and had some progress on Commando and DRG-1N, and probably some other stuff I don't remember. Atlas was the biggest pain in the arse to Master everything because it's so dang expensive. It's also a pain for me because I just can't stand how slow Assaults are. Also, trying to stick with the team, when everyone is in faster mechs and won't wait for you is really infuriating (especially if there's 1 or 2 enemies attacking me, and 5+ allies that could shoot them if they just turn around, but they ignore me if I say anything). I only really enjoy Assaults if I'm with some other assaults/heavies.
I'll just stick to my heavies when I just wanna have the maximum amount of fun, but I'm still going to Master every mech, as all mechs are fun in their own way.
