For the time, GXP and C-Bills gone in to saving up for these modules, I think that all players deserve a bit better. The Small Pulse Laser has a weapon extension of only 5 metres (maximum damage at the longest range) which is actually kind of pathetic.
I believe that these Weapon Extended Range Modules should have a base ratio of 10%/20% (minimum range/max range) for the first tier and 20%/40% for the Second Tier.
Good idea or not really?

I thought this modules were just "level 1" of an intended 5-level plan or tier system for extensions. Consider them a time (GXP/C-bill) sink essentially. No one's likely to want just a level 1 range modifier, but these are being tested essentially (since the range typically comes with heat cost).

As it stands the only ones really worth anything are (in order of usefulness):
AMS
Machine Gun
Small Lasers/Small Pulse
Other than that, I don't see the point. This may well change when the higher tiers are available though.
