I have a similar issue with my Ilya. Everything resets to group 1, besides a single ML that sets to group 3....

For me weapon 1 turns itsself off and on group 1. In group 1, turns it off. Not in group 1, turns it on. And the take command bug. It will take over Lance and/or Company command- off and on of course.
Minimal effect on game play when I remember to check first. I do have a legit reason to test fire at start of match now and not at team mates. That first firing can cause it to switch.

I had the same problem, it would not save my groups and kept resetting them. I found that after one patch (can't remember which one) the user directory had been set to read only.
goto your user profile directory usually it is
c:\program files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\
right click on user folder select properties and make sure read only is unchecked
go into user directory and do the same for Profiles directory
go into Profiles directory and do the same for your user name directory
go into your username directory and do the same for each of the four files in the directory

This is a Windows thing. Directories appear read only while being normally accessible when actually trying to write files.
