Who wants to listen to an hour long episode of people complaining?

Me.
Its more entertaining and let's face it, it's how many comedians make their career :)

Edit: Just to add.
I have nothing against the NGNG guys, but when i listen to Bryan/Russ i'm sure i can feel myself getting dumberer...

I felt a little bad making my "No Gripes No Grievances'' picture. I know that Catra and Sean Lang and Daeron and the NGNG guys are MechWarrior fans - just like me. In fact, I admire them for making a living out of what has been one of my lifelong hobbies.

PGI are the real villains of this piece... fraudulently promising things and deadlines they clearly never intended to deliver, arrogantly ignoring many of their customers' concerns, and disrespecting and diminishing the MechWarrior IP.

However, in the absence of community management, NGNG are becoming PGI's version of Pravda... and that just makes PGI worse. Not pressing Russ and Paul on the issues of concern to the playerbase, and letting their ridiculous backtracks and decommitments go unchallenged, positively reinforces that their behavior is ok, and adds to Reality Distortion Bubble that already characterizes their stewardship of the game.

I'm not asking NGNG to rant and rave at PGI. But I would like them to - politely - ask the hard questions. And not let massive decommitments and stupid responses pass without comment.

I do think that's possible without jeopardising their PGI payments.

I actually don't mind the MSNGNG podcasts, it's the things that Russ/Bryan say that drive me up the wall.

Just once though, I'd love it when Russ or Bryan takes a shit in the box and tries to sell how great it is, if they wouldn't go "Hey, that's an impressive shit" and say "dude, you just took a shit in a box"

And that'd be the last time Russ or Bryan would be on their podcast and the last penny they would receive and the last promo video they do voice work on.

I'm not saying they have to be critical, just tone down the enthusiasm over everything a bit.

Russ could announce that all weapons were going to be removed but the medium laser and they'd trip over each other to give him a handy J for doing it.

You think PGI goes there for the hard hitting journalism or the even handed treatment? They go there because it's like seals clapping whenever they speak. PGI likes shills, NGNG likes money and exposure more than integrity, that's ok. I just call em like I hear em and I hear shills. NGNG knows what they like (sycophancy) and NGNG gives it to them in spades.
I'm really not knocking them because you do what you gotta do to get work and access, but they honestly try to play like they aren't trained seals for PGI and that I do knock them for. They are a paid PR arm and as long as you know that when and if you bother to listen you know what you're getting. They have preffered access and make money and don't want to risk it by rocking the boat in the slightest.

ngng is a joke. im suprised anyone even listens to their crap. its pretty sad, as it used to be the coolest battletech stuff in town imo, until mwo showed up and their heads dissapeared up the behinds of pgi. and i was dumb enough to think that ngng would keep them honest and help keep pgi to making an actual good battletech game.

While they are talking about e-sports and all that, I think the point here is that they are finally beginning to support company level of play. VOIP support (although it'll still be probably useless for PUGs - changes nothing), private lobbies (for player made leagues) and finally the queue for 2-10 groups (that I really hope changes to 2-12 solo opt in queue that replaces the 12-man queue).

This game is at it's best when playing as a company. You truly see the different strategic aspects of the gameplay. The importance of movement and positioning. Metagaming changes, but the fundamental basics don't. In my opinion more and more people should be pushed towards 12-man gameplay. I understand that some people only want to pew pew in pugs, but for some it is also the only option.

As for some throwing out the "we are founders we deserve"-card, please stop. While you are diehard BT/MW fans, it doesn't mean you're the only ones playing this game. I think that MWO has very unique gameplay mechanics that give alot of depth to the gameplay. First one to post something witty about PPCs and ACs wins a prize! While this is a MechWarrior title, it does not mean that only MW fans are allowed to play it or say about how it should be done. I understand frustration but some of the things I read on the forums are just plain childish.

Bottom line, I really like the way PGI are going now and I got my hopes up first time for a long, long time.
