Looking into the Commandos myself, but haven't played one yet. Pretty sure you need TWO more heat sinks to be alllowed out of the garage with this engine...

This is the only way to go. Two tons of ammos is enough. If you want more firepower, remove the BAP and take an other SSRM2 launcher.

But IMO, BAP is vital on lights with streaks, if you are strike by an other light with ECM, or two ligths with ECM, you can't do any damages.

I use this build for a long time, and it's by far one of the best for this chassis.

@Aleski: If you get jumped by lights you deploy your UAV, problem solved.

Spheroid is right about UAV, but one other factor, Aleski... BAP and Guardian do not stack. That is to say, if you are running a guardian ECM, and meet another ECM source, and are assuming your BAP will counter his ECM... you are out of luck. As such it's a waste of space for that. The minute you put the BAP in an ECM equipped mech, the ECM cutting ability is disabled. You do of course still get the "detect shut down mechs" and any targeting info acceleration.

I've heard people who are swearing by BAP and Guardian together and it just isn't so. It's their turning ECM to counter that is working, which they tend to do when they assume there are multiple ECM mechs, cause they've noticed interference. I've seen these same people then later outraged thier BAP isn't working right, when it dawns on them that BAP is disabled this way and it was thier actual Guardian all along that they were using to pierce enemy ECM.

UAV is expansive for what it is. And when you deploy your UAV it's for a short time. Use the BAP is by far a more security option. I've made a lot of match on this chassis, this solution is by far more durable for this mech. If you don't use a BAP, use SRM.

I think we need advices of a big boss of commando about that. I'm not really sure that ECM and BAP can't work together like that. Where is it notice? Nowhere. And it's the first time i see someone who tell that.

Are you sure about the combo of BAP and ECM? I've never notice that. When i'm attack by multiple light mechs with ECM, i can lock them. THe other advantage of BAP is the speed of lock time, and the info gathering. This is vital for light mechs.

Yes. BAP loses its countering ability when you have Guardian. Also, leaving 1/3 of the streak launchers off misses a large part of what makes the 2D an effective streak mech. You're also missing too much armor (and never touch a light's leg armor).

Unless you want to run SHS, it should look like this:

You lose firepower, but with this mech i have made a lot of matches with 500+ damages. It's not an obligation to have the three SSRM2. I'm not so convince... I have to made some test for the BAP and ECM.

Here it is spelled out, on the patch it was introduced with BAP countering ECM in the first place, May 21st, 2013.

http://mwomercs.com/...23-21-may-2013/

Hopefully that helps you. You do have to scroll down to the specific section for Beagle Active Probe, where they mention it. For those who don't want to take the effort...

Beagle Active Probe

- Now counters ECM within 150m.
- BAP will only counter 1 enemy ECM 'Mech within its range
- A Mech that equips both ECM and BAP will only receive the sensor range bonus and the ability to detect powered down Mechs from BAP. Other BAP features gets overridden by the active ECM.

Needs 2 more heatsinks to actually be able to drop into a match... which need to be Singles as your build lacks the critical slots for 2 Double Heat Sinks. Most of the people I've seen run the Streakmando drop the engine down to an XL 195 and need to run SHS to fit enough ammo to last a whole match.

He could drop to 200xl, remove ferro-fibrous for standard, add the two heat sinks and then drop 16 armor or so, down to about 128 armor total, for a third ton of streak ammo. That would leave him running 3 tons streak ammo for his three streaks, with a backup Medium Laser, running about 142kph still (tweaked).

I personally think that either the 2 ssrm approach or else running 2 tons ammo only and actually adding additional half ton of armor (160 total) can be a way to go too, that is... assuming the above is done (200xl, remove FF, add 2 double HS).

Ho! Ok so i was completely wrong. Thank you for the information (you and the others) =)

I'm going to make some try without BAP and with three SSRM2 tonight... That was a good idea to reply to this topic, i've learning more about the game!

I put together a little something based on a 2 SSRM approach (hybrid of your suggestions) that I might try out on my 2D. It's more about sustainable fire than my typical hit-and-run 3 SSRM Streakmando.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...16cb6a678db5ea3

(Nearly) Full armor (not that it'll help all that much, on a 25 tonner, but why not), DHS, 3 tons ammo for 2 launchers, all should help it deal consistent damage over a match as long as it can avoid attention.

With the boost of the SSRM2's rate of fire have people found it makes a great deal of difference? I've been thinking of setting my ECM Raven up for SSRMs, away from it's current Llas dominant set up, but I've been on the fence about it.

The RVN-3L is my favorite and best mech and I love the 3ML/2SSRM build best, but the plain fact is that the giant legs are a serious liability. The 2ERLL build works because you can stay safely away, protecting your stilts as you fire. And a good Jenner or Firestarter pilot can outmaneuver you easily. So it's got serious weaknesses. If you want streaks, the JR7-D is probably the best light.

The -3L is still my fave. His name is Edgar. :(
