Mysterious Heavy Damage

Has anyone else taking a light hit only to find their entire ct destroyed? A couple matches in my Centurion found myself destroyed from light orange armor by two volleys from a dual ppc + ac 'mech. Another match found my Shadowhawk 2 volleyed from the same except in the rear CT, and my last match the left torso of my Orion went from orange to destroyed by a single banshee volley (about 45 ap for the left front.) Am I just getting ghost hits from the server by other unseen mechs? All I know is that it feels like hit detection counting their hits multiple times?

Suppose this is just Bug # 567889. Additionally, you will encounter severe frontal damage without even seeing a projectile / beam and without the damage indicator flashing. Either one of the thousend of unsolved bugs (but hey, we have a new hero mech!) or just some ******** using cheats.

You drive a Medium, your Internal Structure is not massive, orange armor already way down and 30+ Alpha Damage will kill you right now if it crits - maybe you climbed the ELO ladder and now meet oppoents that have either the technical infrastructure or(and) the skill to aim.

In my experience, this is due to a bug where an impact does not play a sound, usually more noticeable with high-alpha hits. For example, a dual PPC/AC5 blow to the CT, but there is no impact sound, yet it strips half or more of the armor. Often, it is easy to miss these hits given the speed of the projectiles, leading one to believe it came from "nowhere".

I've noticed that a few times....I've also noticed that sometimes, other mechs seem indestructible to my fire. I've hit stationary ravens in the CT with 6 or 7 4xAC5 shots and the raven sit there with barely a scratch..how it survives the (potential) 120 to 140 points of damage, I'll never know

You must check your cross/circle:
red = hitting
however, put this on your head: in this game what you see is not what happens.
Latest match, in sequence:
- I fired a volley of SRM6+ARTEMIS at 40m to a Catapult
- Damn! Entire volley between legs
- I saw missiles explosions behind Catapult, on the ground at 70m
- Catapult destroyed!

With one of the april patches giving us Server-Side-Hit-Effects, we hopefully will always get the sound & shake & effect when hitting or beeing hit by any weapon.

Every one of those shots at the raven resulted in a red reticle
I have noticed higher pings on average for teams in games, and a lot of times the light mechs seem to transport around the map...so not sure if that had anything to do with it (most times I see both teams with 10 of 12 players with pings at 120 or higher....)
oddly enough, my ping seems unaffected (consistently between 35 and 40)...w
