I'd support this "If" I was employed atm. Here's why, back in Grade School-Jr. High I had a friend named Paul. Paul had severe MS (Crutches, unable to talk, etc, one of the most severe forms of MS). He was teased because of his disability. I, and several of my friends always stood up for him as tbh, academically he was one of the most intelligent people I knew and he was cool. Though he had to use a board to talk, he was always someone I considered a friend and classmate.
MS needs to be supported, many people suffer with it or have had it change their lives as it progressed in severity (This happened to my Pastors daughter, now confined to a wheelchair). If you can, help support this worthy cause on behalf of Paul and many others who have MS.

I think a thank you to PGI and the mods for pinning this and taking it serious, that including playing in the event. For all the stress you get from players, I hope events like this are a way to not get down on each other.

Just a quick update. Thanks to a few more donations this weekend, the total funds raised is now up to $4,220. Thank you.
In case you were wondering, you can still make a donation to the National MS Society for this WalkMS event through May 31.

I know I'm resurrecting this thread, but you'll get over it.
I just wanted to post an update on some final numbers of the WalkMS 2014 here in San Diego. I attended the award luncheon yesterday afternoon, July 10, and there was much clapping and a few tears (the MS Society is very good at that part).
To put the below numbers in perspective, the typical fund raiser raised about $200.
I raised the 9th highest total for single fund raisers in San Diego with $4630.
The number 2 and 3 highest single fund raisers raised a little over $20,000 each.
The top single fund raiser in San Diego raised $73,000 and that is not a typo.
The total funds raised between single fund raisers and teams was $1.6 million.
For those of you who are curious about what I got for raising $4000+...
1. A $400 gift card that I donated back to the MS Society that counted toward the $4630 I raised.
2. A nice lunch yesterday afternoon in Del Mar, California (location of the award luncheon)
3. A special pancake breakfast at next year's WalkMS event.
4. This personalized hot/cold drink tumbler (it's quite nice)
[/
If you've made it this far, I want to thank you all again for the donations and support. It is very much appreciated and unless they find a cure for MS before next year's event, I will be doing this again.
