I've been spending money on different builds but can't find a good one, I pretty much screwed a build up and now I shoot lasers and missles ( forget the name) out at the same thing and over heat in 2 shots. I'm saving up for an 300 engine and will buy some double heat sinks. But I don't like that play style.

If anyone has any good kintaro 18 builds that would be great thanks.

Depending on what playstyle you prefer: And others along those lines. Note that the Kintaro is generally weaker than the other 55 ton mediums because it lacks jump jets (limited mobility) and ballistic hardpoints (must run relatively hot and/or slow to bring decent firepower).

The Kintaro is a good Lighthunter due to it's multiple Missle hardpoints.
As not everyone has the time or cash to field an XL, here is a basic load-out with the 275STD Engine, which allows you to do some damage at range and to be a threat against lights.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ef4a3fd15434e05

Run it with 2 weapon groups:
1. ER PPC
- Use the PPC to snipe at enemies while they are still a way off. Relocation is the main play-style here. Take a shot, then move to another position and take another shot. The ER PPC is also quite usable at close ranges to take out a damaged leg or section, but be sure to watch your heat with it.
2. 4xStreaks+ML
- Once the enemy has closed on you, use the ML and the Streaks to pepper him and to get that armor off of him. Once you see a red section blast it with the PPC or if you are lucky, the SSRM will crit the section on it's own. Edith says: Use Chain-fire mode to reduce the heat generation while tackling more than one enemy at a time.
3. ML alone
- This can be a good cool down weapon group. Use the ML to remain a threat while venting your heat.

Thanks guys! I'll give them a try tomorrow once I wake up. Thanks for taking the time to reply, good night.

I run a pretty standard Streaktaro: XL350, 5 streaks, BAP, 2ML.

2 ML, 5 SRM 6, XL 300 = vulnerable and hot, yet fun to play skirmisher. Packs the punch of a DDC, for the price of a medium.

always DHS unless you know exactly what you're doing (a very small number of builds can eke out benefits from SHS but that will generally require a PPC boat Assault mech, not a medium)

KTO-18 is a beast as a streakboat or an LRM5 boat, 340XL for the LRM5's...I imagine you can't afford a bunch a' XL engines, so try with the engines you, have making it into a slow-fat LRM boat. What engines do you have?

I have 295 and I can afford 300 now.

The XL280- and XL300-based builds are doable with XL295 by simply adding/removing a heatsink/ton of ammo/some armor. You may want to try them first before spending Cbills on a new engine.

unless i'm misunderstanding this- do you mean that you have all your weapons tied to the same weapon group?

that would explain your overheating because you're alpha firing every weapon you have every time you hit the fire button. you're much better off splitting up your weapons into different groups so you fire say your lasers with one button, then missiles with another-you can have up to 6 different groups.- i usually just stick with 3 personally. but between that and double heat sinks your heat issues should be easier to handle.

as for builds i just use a simple 5SSRM, 2ML build on mine, i forget the engine it's an xl something goes just under 100kph. MLs on one weapon group, the ssrms on a second, and the ssrms on chainfire for a third (need to hit backspace to engage chainfire mode where the missiles fire one launcher at a time- it's easier to have one weapon group for chainfire and one for full fire instead of trying to keep hitting backspace all the time during a fight)

I think so, it shoots out on the left side I think the left arm lasers and all streaks or what ever you call it. I have no idea why I copied a build I found a couple of days ago. I don't know how to change weapon groups either but I'll try to figure it out

I have XL 295 just saw my last post should of been more specific .

Here's how to change weapon groups:

1. Outside of a match, in mechlab - Click "mechlab", click small "configure" button below mech, click "weapon group(i think)". Weapons can be grouped from 1 to 6. Remember to click the "save" button below (bottom left).

2. Inside of a match - up/down/left/right direction keys on keyboard to go through weapons and groups (1 to 6), right ctrl key to toggle weapon group for selected weapon on/off.
