If MWO is writing canon then it's the fan fic of a 3 year old. "These guys got in giant robits and fought and some died... but they, they, they got better and then fought again only it was... it was... over there now. And then they fought some more"

If you want to claim to add to the canon you have to have or allow a story to be told.

PGI might be writing canon but it's not BT canon, no it's "How to squander the good will of a dedicated fan base the official story" canon. I can definitely point to more dedicated BT fans who are disgruntled than i can to relevant meaningful things MWO has added to BT canon.

After reading some more of Stackpole's work in the battletech canon... I can kinda believe it IS the fanfic of a 3 year old... maybe a 5 year old, who doesn't understand basic character motivations or interactions outside of "I need these two to do something, so they do it."

And don't get me started on how fail his politics is or his entire need to go "Hey guys, this person here's planning to screw over this other person... THIS PERSON RIGHT HERE *points with huge arrows though that person monologing internally about it constantly*"
