7 Assaults with 3 heavies and 2 lights vs 6 lights, 1 assault, 2 heavies, 3 mediums in skirmish....
Anyone guess the out come of that death match?
Several games I have seen these kind match ups. Weight needs to be close for the match to have chance in skirmish games. I am sure in caps missions lack of weight might give an advantage. Therefore game match maker should take side weights into consideration.
Another problem dropping 5 trial mechs in one match on one side vs 1 premade 4 man and at least 4 other veteran mech pilots. Why not split them up on each side 3 and 2 ? Would been closer match then.

They're not going to change anything matchmaker related until the the new launch module hits.
On the plus side that should get rid of grossly uneven matches with the 3/3/3/3-rule and similar-weight-matching.

they could have done weight matching without the 3/3/3/3 but that's another argument all together. so yes, current matchmaker will continue to work as intended (read: not give a crap about balancing tonnage) until Apr 29th

Looks like I need to add 3/3/3/3 to my sig too, because that's going to cause another mass exodus.

Until premades are forced into premade only matches, matchmaker will continue to suck indefinetly. They are the greatest imbalance to matchmaker that PGI will ever have to deal with.

It's a tough dilemma, I absolutely despise no-weight-limits matchmaker and totally dislike the primitive approach of 3/3/3/3 solution. But if to choose lesser evil, let it be 3333 thing rather current gomorrah, though I believe it will be quite easy to abuse for full 4-man group.

The launch module will adress that too, at least somewhat. There will only ever be 1 premade per team AND if one team has one the other will too.
Not sure if it will also match the size of the premade (matching a 4people group with another 4 people group). It probably won't, I imagine that'd increase the searchtimes too much.
