Heat is an important resource as other have already stated. As a rule of thumb i try to be able to fire for about 20 seconds on any given range before overheating (calculated with atleast full basics and in most cases 2x basics). Depending on what weapon combinations i use this means a Mechlab Heat Efficiency between 1.1 - 1.4 depending on how many different weapon types i will be fielding and how many of them i will be using together at the same time.
