So for the most part, performance this patch has been on par with last patch for me, things are running well- I get about 50-70 FPS in most maps and most situations, a bit lower in combat.

This patch, however, I've been having a serious issue. For the most part my framerate is the same, but sometimes, when turning or reversing, my FPS drops into the 15-25 range. At first this made no sense to me, until I realized that it's also only happening when I'm on high heat, meaning that reversing or torso twisting causes the steam/smoke coming off my mech from the heat to be right in front of my cockpit.

MWO has had this issue for a long time with lasers even in DX9 where having the particle hit effect be very close to the front of your face causes massive decreases in performance, but generally, that's easy to avoid by not firing lasers into a rock right in front of your face. This particle-related bug is new though, and unlike the laser issue, is not easy to avoid.

Running DX11, 1920x1080, full window.

Windows 7 SP1, nvidia 680 GTX, i5 3570k, 16GB RAM, 332.21 nvidia drivers.

Only suggestion at the moment is to clear your shader cache for the game. The MWO Repair Tool can help with this (and fix other stuff that could have indirectly caused the FPS loss).

You could always update your video card drivers to the latest... but I'm really waiting on the next set of NVidia drivers that has DX11 "shader caching" that would hopefully be an immense help.

Yeah, just cleared my cache manually- no help. I too am waiting on the next set of drivers to leave beta. My roommates certainly enjoy them, but I want to wait for the official release. Not keen on updating twice.

I experience this too. Between Dx11 and cockpit glass I lose almost 20fps so I just stick with 9 and hope for a feature to disable the glass soon.

Yeah I posted a similar experience , I did have the same thing occur again, both times on Frozen City.

I think im going to stick with DX9 for eternity. The DX11 implementation is just a DX9 to 11 port, just to open the way to 'add' more graphical enhancements later on. This game is running as crappy as it is, borken CPU usage etc, I'd rather keep it as stable as possible in terms of FPS.
