A car is not a video game. Not even close.
The dev's have CLEARLY defined what is needed to run the game for it's beta. Its also a rather well known fact that due to lack of code optimization in most beta's, that the final product typically (but not all the time) runs better as the devs refine and optimize code for release.
Its simple, if you are afraid the game won't run. Don't pay for the Founders packs. They are optional. Just like the game purchase.
People seem to like making a big stink for no other reason other than trying to get dev attention.

Way to edit your post & post title to change from quasi-rant to appear more reasonable. Glad I could inspire some more civilized behavior from you even if you flame me for it.
You did little to inspire me Death Mallet. I will admit that I got a little more sarcastic than I should have, but going around talking down to people is going to elicit that response. Have a marvelous day.

I agree with nomad's general point, and while this is not a pre-order $60 is a new game on release. I agree it would be nice to see how the game plays and how it runs on your system. Perhaps instead of an early access they give you a grace period where you can get a refund if you decide the investment wasn't the best way to go, say after ~40 hours of play? If done like that what are they really losing? It's not like when you buy a game and the store has to worry about whether or not you've ripped it before returning since they flip a switch after the refund and you lose what you paid for.
The way I see it they would gain rep for being understanding and flexible with potential customers and isn't that what would make them the most money and be the most successful? It would certainly help inspire confidence in those that bought in for $30 justify spending another $90 wouldn't it? or the $60 buy ins spend that next $60, I sure think so.
Another note, not everyone here has played a mech game before. Some of us, like myself, would like to know what the game is like before plunking down cash since not all of us will have the past experience, if you will, that, dare I say, the majority of you do.
My .02$
