At that point I'd rather drive one of my 55 ton mediums, which go the same speed with more armor and waaaaay more firepower.

If it were scaled like the Spider, I'd be alright going 110ish with bigger meaner weapons. Been running the "bug" this long, doing the same thing at 5 tons lighter wouldn't bother me much. As it is, the Lolcust is my only light. :D

Really, I'd rather have the King Crab (which was mentioned in those tweets) and the Zeus (the premier, iconic Steiner mech).

Other mechs? Hatchetman. Urbie just so people would shut up about it (and I want one).

Panther doesn't do much for me and while the Wolfhound is interesting, as others have pointed out, I'm not sure there's enough different versions or that it's interesting enough to be a priority. I wouldn't mind seeing it eventually, just because it's a House-specific mech, but not before the others that I listed above.

The Panther's top speed, assuming it inherits the same max engine formula as most lights, would be 101.8 or so (not 110). I can squeeze a surprisingly payload in a Shadow Hawk or Griffin that can go 97.2.

The Wolfhound would have the same engine as a Raven 3L or Firestarter, so it doesn't have to worry about speed.

PS: The Lolcust is your only light...I feel bad for you. :D

I just want a warhammer... I don't even care if it's a total redesign... Same with the Marauder... Just give us something that has similar hardpoints in the same weightclass even!

Hell I'd settle for new mechs inspired by them, I don't care... just give me my Warhammer and Marauder!

and TT has what influence on this game?

Hmm, the fact that any Mechwarrior based game has it's roots there? I dunno.

The ON1-K can do a Marauder, with all the right locations too. 75 tons, 2 PPC's, 2 ML's, and an AC/5. Easy.

Don't get me wrong, I WANT both mechs in. I just don't see the point, currently.

Well, to be perfectly honest, this is the reality of a lot of mechs in the game...sure, there are hundreds of different mechs to chose from across all of the years- but many of them are only slightly different from each other, or are even totally redundant.

To be honest, I would be surprised if anything actually came from the King Crab, as PGI has already stated that they would not allow the AC/20 to be split among the arms and torsos. No, I think they will leave the Mauler as the only assault that can mount dual AC/20's. Man, just thinking of the tears...

There are two TRO versions of the King Crab(fact check pls), one with lower arm actuators one without it

Oh... oh good to know, thank you. I was already planning on starting up Orions after I finish Thunderbolts.

Do you know which TRO they'd show up in? 3025/3039?

Why not? The Wolfhound is the tank of the Light class, could be interesting.

The Mauler, I dunno. That's a big F'ing torso.

depends how you run the mauler

considering that ac2's are 6 tons each thats 12 tons a side throw in some endo steel and downsize the engine a bit, and you have a dual ER PPC, dual AC20 and dual LRM 10 monster mech that you would NOT want to see coming around the corner. because this is how i'm running mine

so it should be fine if you aren't running an XL

Id actually be rather enthusiastic about a Ymir :D

It would be one of those 'only one good variant' 'Mechs unless they gave the 2E and 3A some extra hardpoints. They could either borrow a few hardpoints from the primitive variant, or split large weapon hard points.

BWP-2B :
1 ballistic [LA]
6 missile ( 5,5,2,2,2,2 ) [2xRT, 4xLT]
2 energy [RA, LA]

BWP-2E :
2 missile (10, 2) [LT, RT]
2 energy [LA, RA]

BWP-3A :
2 missile (10, 2) [LT, RT]
3 energy [LA, RA, HD]

The prototype (invalid for MWO because it's primitive tech) -

BWP-X1 :

1 ballistic [LA]
6 missile ( 5,5,2,2,2,2 ) [2xRT, 4xLT]
3 energy [3xRA]

Haha, yeah I was going to say. . .
But it's still a sweet looking 'Mech, especially if they kept it's lanky, broad shouldered football player form factor. It's a bit like the Centurion's big brother, in both looks and layout.

PS - Why is the centurion still assault 'Mech huge, and why did they give the model that giant metal diaper? That wasn't present in the concept art.

I don't really have any mechs I HAVE to run because of lore and/or nostalgia...at least not yet. As a member of the Kell Hounds I'd probably pick up Wolfhounds and do my damndest to make them work regardless of how 'bad' they might end up being :D

I'd imagine said monster mech would not be the most nimble thing on the battlefield. Better bring a friend along to protect your slow-turning butt.

Seriously, though: Hatchetman. I mean, come on, people - Kai Allard Liao uses a Hatchetman in the battle for Twycross: we HAVE to have this mech.

I would like to see the marauder or even the archer personally. Those where the mechs I liked the best.

Agreed, we really could use another LRM mech, and the Archer would be fairly interesting.
