Id actually be rather enthusiastic about a Ymir

It would be one of those 'only one good variant' 'Mechs unless they gave the 2E and 3A some extra hardpoints. They could either borrow a few hardpoints from the primitive variant, or split large weapon hard points.
BWP-2B :
1 ballistic [LA]
6 missile ( 5,5,2,2,2,2 ) [2xRT, 4xLT]
2 energy [RA, LA]
BWP-2E :
2 missile (10, 2) [LT, RT]
2 energy [LA, RA]
BWP-3A :
2 missile (10, 2) [LT, RT]
3 energy [LA, RA, HD]
The prototype (invalid for MWO because it's primitive tech) -
BWP-X1 :
1 ballistic [LA]
6 missile ( 5,5,2,2,2,2 ) [2xRT, 4xLT]
3 energy [3xRA]

Haha, yeah I was going to say. . .
But it's still a sweet looking 'Mech, especially if they kept it's lanky, broad shouldered football player form factor. It's a bit like the Centurion's big brother, in both looks and layout.
PS - Why is the centurion still assault 'Mech huge, and why did they give the model that giant metal diaper? That wasn't present in the concept art.
