Hi Folks,
As usual thanks for all the drops last night. Also thanks to all the different players for giving me feedback on the structure/format of the drops that we have been doing thus far. Summing it up.
1. Current format of 3/3/3/3 for each weight class seems to work*.
2. Capping to 3 ECM & 3 Arty/Airstrike also seems to work*
* = No serious bitching and no being killed by 6 Arty strikes in the course of a game.
3. Games are fun and not seen as 'stressful' compared to the more competitive 12 mans.
Suggestions moving forward for future drops:
1. Mixing up players. As these drops are composed primarily of players from multiple small units and independents, mixing them up will allow for a better spread of player skills. This is to avoid 1 team dominating for the entire night.
2. Stock/Trial Mech Games - this is to take away so-called 'Meta' builds and let players do their best on a more even playing field (basically pilot/team skill would count more rather than just having a cheese build)
3. More variety of missions need to be considered. - Current proposal is to run both Conquest & Skirmish games. Other suggestions include 1 on 1 duels and/or playing games like capture the flag etc (as suggested here: http://mwomercs.com/...pture-the-flag/)
Please do take a look and feel free to input more suggestions on how we can improve things. I am personally quite happy that we've been consistently able to get 2 12 man teams going every Friday with up to 3 on some weeks. I would of course like to have more units participating as time goes on, but part of that will also depend on having a solid drop format that will encourage people to take part as everyone who takes part is having fun and learning something.

I'd like to thank everyone for the 12 man drops tonight. I think they went reasonably well. I hope to see you all again next week. And I really have to apologize for the long wait between drops, but yes. Organizing 12 mans is like herding cats..
Apologies to those I promised for the videos of the 2 games. I did record them.. but the sound was not recorded.. so I'm not quite sure how exciting it would be without the sound. I'm not going to post them up here unless people really want to watch a silent movie...
