I repainted my Boar's Head all red. Everyone is going to shoot at it anyway, why not have some flair? I have a few eye-bleeding acid green on purple troll builds. My Misery is red and bright blue.

My ECM Commando, on the other hand, is 100% flat black....

Some truth in this. I have painted many of the 'mechs I'm currently leveling red and it seems like two thirds of the enemies single me out even though there are other targets to shoot. This has worked for baiting tactics a few times.

I always paint my mechs to look good.

Sometimes the best psycological impact is a cool looking non-hero mech. It means they know I've spent time in it if I'm willing to drop money on the paint job

Most of the time, people focus on the newbie first, so the BASIC GREEN mech.

If you paint your mech with scary camo or funny colors, your ennemies will focus first on your teamate in BASIC GREEN, so you will have the time to make them PAY!!

But for the hero variants, it's true they go for you first. In my Heavy metal, all in pink, i was the first to take the damages..... But the worst in the game is the Ilya Muromets. It's always the first to take the shots... So paint it green? I have to test!

In fact it's a pretty good idea! =)
But with the radar, the trick is very limited... And there is no hero mech with ECM...

@loopala : i've see your green heavy metal on the battlefield, that was the surprise of the game =D

Some of my mech are all in white. In Alpine Peaks, it's impossible to snipe them when i'm out of ennemies radar =)
It's working too in Frozen City, but the map is too small, and the radar is working anytime because of the size of the map...
But when you go to Terra Therma with mech paint in white... You're a free target!

I have the best experience with shades of grey, no light grey, just medium tones, only "camo" matte colors. Try "digital" paint.
Usually, they blend in well, and break your outline.

But yeah, my YLW lives much longer in BasicGreen-BasicGreen.

I painted my Commando Blue, Grey and Black... Seems to work on most maps.

On Frozen City and Alpine, the colors mesh pretty well with rocks and snow, and even the water of the bay. In the Frozen City night map, I just hide between buildings and keep moving; I stand out a bit more because of the darker blue, but considering all the mechs I dash around, it's a bit harder to spot me.

I think something weird happens on Terra Therma though; I can't confirm it, but the blue reacts with the natural red glow, and kinda...changes color a bit? Neutralizes? I don't know. But considering how much I seem to survive on that map with this paint scheme, I have to think that it's at least a bit harder to spot. Maybe it breaks up my outline or something, or makes the mech blend into the rockface. Kinda need the opinion of...well..someone who's shot at me on those maps, honestly.

Sadly, it doesn't work on Canyon or HPG very well. HPG just because everything is grey so any other color stands out like a painful sore thumb...and Canyon because...well...brown sand. Same for Tourmaline, come to think of it.

For the YLW it's pretty much an obligation... Anyone shoot at your poor right arm! =(

I can't test a blend of greys colors, i just have the Phoenix Grey for the moment, the rest is Black or White for this type of colours....
