I drop on Mordor into a skirmish and watch the three lances form up into a blob. ...

I then watch 9 of the drop composite hurd themselves up at one of the PUG zapper entrances and watch in horror as they bunch up, shoulder to shoulder and butt to belly and witness the systematic slaughter of those teammates...

This pretty much and 70% certainty every PUG match on Mordor...

It's just like that Cologne called Sex Panther .. 60% of the time, it works all the time..

This coming from the guy that has eaten Ramen Noodles and Hot Dogs for lunch for the past 26 years..??
If you're willing to put that in your body, i'm willing to bet you would put that ON your body ..ROFL. :P

And yes 60% of the time you will have attracted an actual Panther (exclusive to South America only), invalid in North America.

The PUGZAPPER provides one of the best locales for performing PUG-Oscillations. Any map will do, really. It usually works like this:

1) PUG notices that he hasn't fired his weapons in the last 5 seconds
2) PUG thinks, "Hmm, I bet there's targets in the PUGZAPPER". Full throttle!
3) PUG takes multiple PPC and AC hits to the face
4) "Oh crap! Full reverse!"
5) Go to step 1

The process continues until a teammate blocks step 4, resulting in early termination, or the pilot's Mech runs out of CT. Occasionally this zombie-like trance is broken by the "CRITICAL DAMAGE" alert; unfortunately by that time it's usually too late to salvage the team.

The trance-like condition appears to be contagious. Nearby pilots, upon witnessing their teammate's fiery death, typically do not respond with caution. Rather they think, "Great! Now there's room for me to snipe too," and proceed to step 1 above.

North American panthers are lostech.

(What's sometimes called a panther in North America is actually a puma, typically a cougar or mountain lion.)

Pug Zapper?

http://cloud-3.steam...E46E0AC698C0A4/

I can't really explain this match. Three of us tried to do some damage, but everyone else just died and couldn't get over 82 damage. Eventually just got overwhelmed.

I wrote a thread a while ago about adding map events to the game, with erupting volcano at number 1. Others in this thread are now seeing it finally, it is indeed the pug zapper, because the other team is in the center. The center can be defended, it is really hard to do however on a pug team.

Thing is with the volcano, you might as well blob up and go there and try to defend, because if you dont they will, and your team mates, well, at least 3 of them will ignore the countless cries of "dont do it! help us blow them up when they come out!!" and march in, and then you are down 3 mechs.

I think really though, what gets me even more, is on the new-ish assault mode how many teams just flat out ignore the benefit of support fire from your turrets. The pugs just walk out of base, but juuuuuuust far enough that the LRM turrets cant target. Then they eat enemy LRM and ppc until it is 10 enemy vs 6 ally, or 7, then panic and try to regroup, but still not at base. base turrets are only used when there is like 1 guy left lol. It is related to the trance like state mentioned earlier though IMO.

Also, I am starting to think that many of my pug team mates are non-english speakers. it has to be, I mean how else could they flat out not respond to common sense?

In general, without any kind of VOIP in game, or even some simple commands you could push F5-F8 for like "help" or "defend my position" trying to make for a tactical game on some maps is a lost cause. Pugzappah is just part of the Pug life.

So yeah, about those map events- volcano eruption to force people out of there
-Coastal bombardment to keep people from camping the garage in crimson
-total white-out for 10 seconds on frozen city(like even heat vision goes white)
-Acid rain on caustic for 10 seconds, localized to caldera and does minor armor dmg.
-periodic mega flare to light up river city night for 5 seconds, maybe random air strikes, it is a warzone
-radar jamming temporary on moonbase, maybe because of transmissions from enormous dish? like map wide ECM with no counter
-not sure for tourmaline/alpine would say dust storms, but i dont like the idea of visibility limits on tourmaline. Alpine snowstorms? **** YEAH, except make it the whole map, basically add frozen city storm effects to the map and make it a whole new version like frozen city/night. Alpine would be completely changed by limiting visibility with white out snow storms/heat vision.
-no idea for canyon either. maybe opposite of moonbase, fighter squadron fly-overs reveal entire team and enemy team to everyone on map for 5 seconds perdiodically, negates ECM too for duration. Like map wide UAV.

I think those would mix up the maps, and could be used to spread out map usage, which would make the datamine- heatmaps look better, and keep matches from being pugzapper rinse cycles.
