I never thought premades were the problem... Just posted same thing somewhere else

Biggest problems IMHO

New players starting in the middle of the Elo bracket
New players dropping with vets, as a result of ^. Yes, vets on both teams, but vets easily take advantage of the many mistakes new players like me make, leading to quick deaths.
No VoIP

Well, yeah :P Opening up the ELO bucket screws new players. We'll see if it's better come the 29th...they're apparently getting more rigid...though we'll see how that effects the MM.

Any plans for ingame VoIP? It would change my, and every new players experience dramatically.
I'm far far too casual of a player for joining a group I think. Like the OP, not looking for a premade either, but being able to listen to my pug (can't chat, lotta RL around me) would make me do the Humpty Dance.

Edit - not sure I would describe myself as a happy pugger. Doing this would go a long long way towards changing that though

Like people said there are tons of groups that will take really casual players. I run with the Lone Wolves and it's as casual as you can get. Play when you want. See some people on, if there is room in their group you join up with them, Constant mixing and matching, bring what mech you want when you want. Don't have a mic or don't want to talk, sure thing. Feel like playing the PUG lottery some night and not grouping, sure thing. The only thing premade about our "premades" is that we are all on TS together, everything else is a free for all. Check us out if you're interested...

Which doesn't necessarily mean we suck...just that we prefer drinking booze to eating babies lol.

And we recognize that it's A GAME. No one will ***** you out for bringing a non-meta build, or if you do something stupid and get yourself killed.

Yeah no issues with premades here, my win loss stats are in the positive so not sure how the whole "A premade ate my baby" debate rages so hard, just sometimes you know you have been rolled....lol.
I havnt even worried about the ELO, I like a challenge and the best way to learn is to get your a$$ handed to you a few times, it's natural selection at work....lol. But I'm a sim enthusiast, I am a bit of a sicko when it comes to learning curves.
Booze? Man I'm there....:)

Edit: Ok, I checked out the Lone Wolves, will have a think about saying hello, thanks for the info.
