I get that, McGral. But, you've also got to look at it from the stand point of how the community might react if PGI released the game and the AC20 wasn't doing 20 damage, the PPC wasn't doing 10 damage, etc. There is a massive line to walk between offering up a good game that is/can be/might be balanced and keeping to the core Battletech game. Go in either direction too far and you've pissed off the people that are paying your bills.

Ah, but they are doing their rated damage. At 10 second. We have an AC60, but no one seems to be complaining too much.

Well, AC30 with doubled armor. Close enough.

Wouldn't bother me any, to be honest. I would have been fine with it from the jump. But, we're too far along to go back to anything like that. If you're talking about making changes that should have happened way back then, pure DHSs, the damage/heat changes like you said, honest engine caps for mechs so that mechs have their designed niche, hard point sizes, not giving every mech in the world 12 hard points, etc. If you do that now, you'd alienate the entire player base and we'd be sitting here waiting for another 5-10 years till the next BT game came out.

Private matches could have been the end of that. Let us choose the values we want...but no.

I think you're overestimating the dislike for ghost heat.

Well if not GH, then Missiles, and when not Missiles, the Meta, and when not Meta, something else. You seeing a trend there dawg?

As long as the "community" has something to rage about, while the game grows, all is GTG!

Rage makes the game world go around. Without it, there is only silence and silence kills games. :D

AFAIK, the top two people (Sean Lang and Bombadil) are being paid by IGP for this. The rest of NGNG are not.

Not that your AFAIK isn't any good, but how about having a quote from Phil or Sean stating it to be the actual truth. Would hate to have a " stated fact or position" on these Forums be said without actual substance right... :D

They don't get paid for podcasts directly, they get paid for specific promotional materials that they put out that are created through contract. Such as the tutorial videos.

So they get paid for work done. Those dirty, monetary requiring, bastashes. How dare they do that... LOL!

This Forum is a one of a kind. Oscar the Grouch would feel right at home in here. :D

Wait - then why are you in general discussion?

Trying to find both useful and in-general game based info? Oh wait... :D

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it until they fix it: Triple heat Battletech sucks. They tripled the firing rates, but only gave us single rate heat dissipation. No amount of ghost heat this, or increased heat cap that is going to make it work.

The only reason they refuse to let us build heat neutral mechs is that they claim that it would ruin the gameplay and not be fun. I don't know about you, but I think overheating is no fun.

I dont understand how anyone can believe anything coming out of Paul's mouth. How many times does someone have to lie to you before you clue in? Community Warfare, the one feature that has been promised with concrete dates over and over again ... is still just vapor ware. Paul, admits this is the case time and time again.

It is a shame that PGI has no control over what is being produced. It appears more and more like there is just a grab for cash and little or no desire to keep promises made. Paul needs to either man up and take responsibility or stand up for the players and get Community Warfare out.
