A thought on evening up the waiting list for the 3/3/3/3 metric.

Perhaps a class percentage on the select page, i.e. 25/25/25/25% type bar showing selected mech queue ready to launch?

So at a glance you could see for instance that assaults are at 35% and Mediums are at 15%.

To get a quick drop, select a medium to play. (Help even up the queue)

Brilliant idea. I second this on the basis that I play casually and it would help us get in a game quicker.

Good idea. Especially when waiting for a long time.

Edit: This would make immediate use of the four mechs ready we once had, which, I think was great.

In a thread similar to this, someone stated there is no metric they can pull up to see what is sitting in the MM. I think it's because it would have to say what is missing in a single persons elo based on that persons weight class choice, but taking into consideration each player could have 4 different elos.

In order for this to work they would have to show what is in demand per elo bracket, then tell us where our elo sits per each weight class.

Bob, elo has nothing to do with what's ready in your mechlab.

All that's needed is just a general indicator of what's running low in the queue system. They definitely won't let us see the total queue size or elo due to marketing considerations.

Basically all we need is something to tell us what's needed in the queue to speed things up.

I'm a fan of this idea, I really am.

I just want to add in the caution with it that when you expose a layer of the matchmaker, like how populated one weight queue is, you open up a level for it to be gamed. Add that functionality with the knowns I laid out here and you'll make it even easier to sync drop.

I also wonder how increased wait time would affect c-bills per hour, and if c-bill earnings might need an increase to counteract a general increase in queue times.

maybe the approximated/average waitingtime per weigthclass could be displayed ... that number might be more easy to extract out of the existing data.

this info also would enable a player to make a thoughtful decision to switch to a different class of mech to have a chance of playing more early/often.

or a pie chart displaying the distribution of mech weight classes percentages ... that would also enable me to make a more informed decision what mech to play to have a chance to get into a game more early
