In case any of you PGI guys actually read this post, I do have a few ideas to attract more players. Have you considered a game mode that would last longer that 15 minutes? I understand people enjoy, as do I, jumping in for a few quick rounds between other obligations. How about rounds where armor is boosted or weapons do less damage so a mech isn't killed so quickly. As it sits, so many players hang back and wait for teammates to soften up the enemy due to the amount of damage that is put out so quickly. Maybe add a repair feature to the mech back at base? Maybe having rounds where you can select multiple mechs to take, so as you lose a mech, another is used until you run out of spawns. Sure rounds could go 30+ minutes, but that would be a way of luring more players to the game. And the more players, the more opportunity you guys have to make a lot more money.
Maybe these are thing you hear a lot, and maybe not. Either way, if you want more of my money, then there needs to be a more positive attitude to the community. And MUCH better communication to us. After all, we pay your wages. The players are what make or break the games.

That sounds like the most boring game ever. Nobody would die, they would just lazily saunter back to the repair bay when at 25-50% armor because they couldn't get killed fast enough before they retreated.

An example of a lot of game types is the Battlefield series. People like different types of game play. You get a lot more players if they have options. As is stands now, call it what you like, the three game types resemble each other too much to call them different. They are still run and gun, the only strategy is stick together or split up.

If only the private servers would have allowed us to play around with those stats. Would have made the game much more enjoyable. And worth paying for.

With PGi as devs it'll never happen... check their previous "games".

Ready up 4 mechs and when you get destroyed, the next re-spawns, etc. until everyone is out of mechs and you have a winner.
CoD in stompy mechs.

I play other games and the devs tell the community weekly what is happening, as well as, weekly updates, weapons tweeks, fixes and patchs.

As of right now PGI has better then stock trial mechs that rotate which is so much better then their "let's throw them into stock mechs" idea. The problem is they need to seriously come out with additional trial mechs and rotate them every Tuesday or every other Tuesday to add variety.
In regards to communication you know as well as I do that while it still needs a little work it's significantly better then before. Most people spend an average of $10-15 on FTP titles individually. MWO players tend to spend a little more then the average person. $15 dollars get's you 3000MC which in turn gets you 10 mechs bays. Not counting the occasional free mech bay.
So what's the problem? Do your friends not want to pay? Just because a game is "free to play" doesn't mean it's a charity. It costs money to run the servers and develop. Asking them to give away their more or less "guaranteed" income assuming the player sticks around is selfish.
Here's PGI's somewhat guaranteed money:
1. Mech Bays
2. XP Conversions
3. Hero Mechs
Here's PGI's less then guaranteed money:
4. Camo Colors
5. Camo Patterns
6. Cockpit Items
7. Stock Mechs/Champion Mechs
In regards to stale game play everyone keeps complaining about modes but this games game modes is EXACTLY like WoT's. It's either a straight brawl, base cap or capture points. Are you talking about long range vs brawling? Because while weapon balance is still done terribly the games in a better state then it was months ago.
So I'm not sure where your coming from here. Though I can definitely say the $500 Clan packages are indeed outrageous.

Unless you collect mechs thats more than enough.
There was also recently a very very very rare mechbay sale.
You want more?
Make your own game.
