I'm not usually one to speak out but I am going to make an exception this time. THE MATCHMAKER IS SCREWED.

It seems to me that the matchmaker logic is trying to build a team to make the average skill level of for example 100%. If you have a few above average players then the matchmaker throws in some new players to bring the average down to achieve as close to the 100% as possible - or at least that's the way I see it.

I'm sure all the veteran players will agree that it is most frustrating to do 500 damage and three kills only to die and spectate another player shooting the ground in front of them when trying to hit mechs 800 meters out with their medium lasers - and then loosing.

We have no real way to help these players as they usually don't know how to type a message yet. Why do you insist on putting complete new players in with vets? I for one DONT WANT TO PLAY WITH NEWBIES UNLESS WE HAVE VOICE COMMS TO TALK THEM THROUGH HOW TO PLAY.

I can only imagine how frustrating it is for some of these guys when everyone verbally abuses them for being so bad.

Please please please re-think the matchmaker - what you are doing now DOESN'T WORK!!!!

i don't know who started that rumor, but it is a common misconception that the matchmaker is trying to equalize the teams by intentionally pulling lower or higher end Elos into the match.

Only the elo value for the premades are averaged. Then the matchmaker will look for player within reach of that average value to create a match with those. If the matchmaker can not find enough players close to that elo-bracket, it will widen the search parameter. This will lead to players with higher or lower elos to be put into the same match.

Tagging and moving to general discussion, just like the other thread, where I posted the above quote.

Some dude posted not long ago a hypothesis that match maker uses averages, this seems more or less like a repost.
