How about the inverse method of the currently "C-bills for MC"?

Of course should be a vry reasonable math, like 1 MC for 2 millions C-Bills.

But it will let those with lot of unused C-bills tobuy a sigle shot painting or something cheaper.

Never happen, that would cut into the game makers profit.

I tought about it.

But i don't see how much profit you can achieve getting 1 MC with a huge amount of C-bills.

it defeats the point of having MC if you can buy it for cbills, you might as well just put cbill prices on anything that's purchasable with MC.

If it was any meaningful exchange rate it would be bad business for PGI, so not going to happen. If it was 1MC per 2 million cbills are you suggest, it would take people about 6 months of hardcore playing in order to buy one mechbay which would be unrealistic.

1. People could entirely play the game without playing a cent, which obviously isn't how F2P works and goodbye PGI.
2. Exactly how many C-Bills do you think people have laying around? 2 million c-bills for a single MC; that's two BILLION cbills for a single light 'Mech. ;)

Most of you guys take ideas and propositions like perfect statements. :D
I just made an example talking about 2 milions C-Bills, but what the hell, you are all complaining about that precise amount of money...
Remember that when you have an idea, first you talk using examples, and then you set it up with a concrete plan.

So you can implement the function with any reasonable amount of C-Bills able not to get greedy farmers back on (even if repair costs MUST be re-implemented), and not getting poor PGI failed without MC selling... but this is never gonna happen due to exceptional gold clan mechs maret (lol).

Workarounding the thing, getting MC-only items buyable with C-Bills is not possible also, cause C-Bills are on a much more inflationed market, while transforming them in MC with a non profitable Exchange rate makes the choice less favourable (but still convenient for those with Phoenix/clan packets not in need to buy more mechs with C-bills...).

Maybe they could make a ladder system where you can buy MC with cbills

500 mc - 20 million cbills
1000 mc- 40 million cbills
2500-mc- 60 million cbills
5000 mc- 100 million cbills

They could make it so you had to buy the bottom step of the ladder to unlock the next and could only purchase each step once.

This gives people the ability to purchase everything in game without making it to easy. And still makes it worth it to buy mc.

If we need to bring back R&R and potentially deal with farmers then this idea is terrible. You can't use an inextinguishable resource to purchase limited valuable resources.

You act like 100 million Cbills is a lot. It isn't.

If you live breath and sleep mwo it probably isn't or you've had all the mechs you wanted since beta, otherwise it is. Not to mention the fact your paying 220 altogether 9000 mc, and you can only do it once, you can do a lot more with 220 mill cbills then you can 9k mc. Just saying.

Many F2p games use the model of granting Real Currency for ingame currency and have been quite successful at it. RIft comes to mind right off the top of my head. Neverwinter does this and does fine.

Buying MC with Cbills directly wouldnt work but allowing players to sell their MC to other players for Cbills would. They synergy of this is ideal for a F2P model. Allow the market to dictate the price per.

Im sure it will never happen, as the business acumen of this developer isnt very good. Hence the $500 Gold skins they tried to pull off.

cosmic break has this it work on an increasing exchange rate now cosmic break uses much smaller numbers then mwo
but it works like this the 1st 10 rt are 700 gold each the 2nd 10 are 1400 each the 3rd are 2100 each and it keeps going up as listed but most people will decide that there time is worth more then the 20ish dollars it will take to buy what they want out right

so maybe mwo could do some thing close to this
