Those two mechs play very differently.

I have owned both, and the Jester is the most fun to play of all the mechs I have (51 of them). Yet, it definitely is not the "killer" that the Firebrand can be. It all comes down to what you consider "fun". If it's high kill counts, go Firebrand. If it's jumping in and out of trouble and creating chaos, give the Jester a run.

Also, with the FB - enemy pilots will make you a high priority target, but will be very careful in how they approach you. With the Jester, you are also a high priority target, but enemy pilots will beeline straight at you for what they consider an easy kill.

Yes and no...I've noticed that people tend to ignore Firebrands a bit if they aren't carrying the dual AC/20 and/or dual Gauss build...my 6xML, 2xAC5 Firebrand with it's equally powerful 40 dmg alpha and better DPS appreciates this blindness ^_^

That's like asking a group of men, Blond, Brunette, or Redhead... :)

All about opinion and 'play' style.

I will say this, the nice thing about about a Firebrand is that is carries 6 energy weapons slots, in addition to the ballistic slots...

The Jester is pure energy, and jumps... so it comes down to what you want it to do.

I do wish we could choose our maps that we DONT want to play. I mean, all energy builds, even when boated with 20+ DHS, still struggle on terra therma. It would be a blast to know that almost all the mechs that drops on terra therma were missle and ballistic builds... oh the carnage!
