It is true that Marik is the friendliest house. The FLWM always greets the other units and pugs that display the Eagle regardless of what team they are on. Then we all try to shoot each other in the face.

Possibly. The FRR has a cool one too. Davians and Liao both have swords *yawn* and Steiner's looks like a sex toy. Marik's looks like something that was really cool in the 80's, but hasn't aged very well. Kind of like special effects in older movies.

You'll be so classy and rich you could get a huge tailor made top hat riveted on top of your Atlas. Other houses think you look silly? Mercs and Clanners calling you a *******? If you're in House Steiner they just lack refined taste, but you don't pick them up on it because you're a gentlemen.

That's right! Being in a House Steiner Atlas makes you a GENTLEMEN. You'll be so gentle women will tell you their problems, but won't complain when you fall asleep because you'll be in an ATLAS. Plus being in House Steiner means you will have MONEY, money to buy ladies THINGS. You'll have money for equipment, weapons and mechs. You won't need more mechs because you have an Atlas, a walking fortress. Your Atlas would be so impregnable and you would be so classy you'll be able to just waltz through the enemy.

We don't have swords in our emblems, we don't have animals or disturbing non-fist related imagery. We have a giant blue gauntlet, an armored fist. If you join House Steiner you will be gripping your fate in an armored fist, then showering that fate with money, showering it in Atlas'.

Well you don't seem to understand how versatile the Atlas is. It can easily perform the roles of scout, medium, heavy and assault.

This ad may seem annoying, or just another badly organised plot by House Steiner.

Clan wolf has always been top dog in my book. They hit hard and are strong. they have had many successful campagns. not only that Natasha Kerensky was such a respected warrior that even in her death, her mech was left where she fell. Who has made greater warriors? P.s NK is my favorite figure of battletech.

I chose House Davion because of the books. I associated with those characters the most. Ghost Bear would be my Clan choice but Wolf is awesome as well.

This is what being a mercenary means to me. The idea of not fighting for the highest bidder or tying myself and my corps to a single ideology seems silly. As a rule I want the option to take my pay and bail out when thing start to turn sour, There is no reason for a mercenary to ever fight for a losing cause, nor is there a reason I should ever turn down the highest bidder, regardless of who he is.

Honor, causes, and loyalties are fine and dandy until they put you in harms way or hold you back from a smart decisions because some other "right thing" pops up. That's a fools game and I want no part of it.

That said I'm not picky all that matter to me is the color and quantity of your money.

I like Kurita because, in the books at least, they don't really waffle on things. If they want your world, they're going to take it. If you rebel, they kill you. They tell you they're going to , and they do. In contrast to my real world preferences, the totalitarian autocracy makes for interesting RP and stories. Plus they have red mechs.

I hate Liaos. Dirty backstabbing Cappellans couldn't be trusted to keep their word even if you had a whole regiment to ensure their loyalty.

You should read "Wolves on the Border." Might change your perspective on the relationship between "Backstabbing" and "Kuritans."

Uhhh yeah... that just popped out. Wolves on the Border is on my reading list, I'm getting through The Sword and the Dagger right now. For the record, I'm totally OK with backstabbing and other machinations of the most devious sort to fight back the Clans. Those techno-fanatics deserve anything they get!

I'm a sucker for the more underhanded or outlaw groups.

Gotta love the idea of bandits, raiders and pirates! (I think the Brethren need a mention here!)

But I'm also for the concept of the clans. The Mechs, meritocracy in the extreme and a little bit of genetic tweaking to round it all out. Their honor system is a very colourful (if questionably practical) addition.

The mix of "Clanner" and "Underworld" works great for me. The Dark Caste ticks both those boxes. The Dark Born, the unit providing for that niche got my vote hands down.
