Yes, fix this. I am a premium member and have no desire to play in a private match. I only play skirmishes, which is what I prefer. Don't take my preference away. I am almost out of premium time and I will not renew if this is not fixed as I will no longer have a desire to play.

I don't know why you limited the weights to 3-3-3-3 either. I have seen plenty of light mechs take out assault mechs, even one on one.

PGI: why would you ever, ever de-feature a product that is not obsolete and in use? Why make your product less user friendly in exchange for nothing? There is no rational business or technical reasoning for such a move. If I don't like the selection feature, I will choose not to use it. Removing that option removes my (a paying customer's) choice and degrades my user experience.

Tetris is a good game. People have been playing the same old game for decades. Why?

BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU PLAY IT!

Seriously, PGI, quit changing stuff.

If you can't bother to read it, then stop complaining.

The game is no longer worth playing. I will try again later maybe some day when the staff is replaced we will see improvements.

the link said there is a problem with matchmaker, so they removed the mode selection to keep the patch operational. As soon as a fix is made, they will hotfix it to add the mode selection back in.

Good to hear... my first match was my most hated mode.

So I don't play for a few months, mainly because the new UI was horrid, then I decide to play today and see if anything has improved. I start a match, and just like the OP, you can only select private or public match, no option for game type. I get put into a Conquest match and fearing the worst, it's as bad as always. Absolutely zero fun in the mode. Awesome way to get me to want to return to playing the game ...

*sarcasm* BTW, just love the fullscreen at all times, even when not in game, that part along with the new UI is so awesome. *end sarcasm*

Ditto, I realy wish I could hear the meeting on that decision.
Marketing Guy; "Hey guys I know what will make them want to buy the Gold Clan Mechs!!! less than 50 left you know, lets take a way the ability to choose the kind of match they can play."
Dev Guy; " Thats an awsome idea it would be realy easy to get that done."
Maketing Guy; " And when they cry about it we can put it back and figure how to charge MC cash for it".
CEO; "Sounds like a plan, my ex is hounding for more child support and its starting to affect my lifestyle, we need to generate more cash flow."

I know PGI is trying hard to keep things fair, and to produce a good game for everyone, and props for your work. In general the game is really well made. But the loss of game type selection in the name of balance is game breaking. I get the vague idea that this is temporary, but I'm not entirely clear on that. The game generally felt great before the patch, now being thrust into capping points and standing around, it just seems lame. Conquest is brilliant for newer players that are trying to accrue mc, but it holds no allure for someone who wants to fight. Light mechs automatically get relegated to flag capper status- I am a paying player, and I would like to see some legitimate incentive for dropping cash into the game, because I do love all things mechwarrior. Instead of dickering with drop balance and matchmaking, how about rolling out the clan mechs this century? Or will you wait until the player base is dead and gone? People can handle tonnage on their own, there is no reason to break the game over it.
