All + MWO Dev Team:

Finally, private matches are here; awesome. Now Units can battle each other...the basic pillar of any multiplayer combat sim.

So whats next? Since MWO does not support an in-game Community feature it would be great to have an Official TeamSpeak server for all MWO pilots. Can MWO designate an official server?
Since so many Units were waiting for private matches, there was a natural creation of tournaments/leagues on the side to keep the competitive players happy. This seems to have branched off from the main Community. Pooling all resources into a single server will help to grow the Community and game.

We need House Roleplaying to help form a foundation for Unit cohesion. Units come and go, but the idea behind Houses is they remain. Have House Leaders been identified and what steps are being done to lay down a basic sense of Community?

There are two unofficial TS servers. Official servers mean hiring mods for them and being responsible for what goes on there.

We will be adding at least a match-based VOIP system. While we certainly hope that Community Warfare will give players an incentive to get a little deeper into character. We are not, at this time, intending to be a role-play obligatory environment.

Major Canonical characters, units or house/clan positions will not be represented in the game as players. Just as in many other MMO's of our type, we are offering players each the chance to write the story of a character never before heard of in the BattleTech Universe.
Just admit it. Russ wants to play Victor Steiner-Davion, and is looking forward to hamming it up. It's okay. We'd all do the same in his place.

I wish PGI would share a bit more about this. Being told 'No, you can't be <insert famous unit, personage, etc>' without knowing why and what PGI intends to do with all that stuff is annoying.

Thanks, I know this portion of growth is dependent upon the COmmunity more so than anyone else.

Small request: It would be of immerse help to solidify the player base if in-game name changes can be made. This way players can add Unit designations and such; it adds to roleplaying and recruitment efforts. Any plans for this feature?

While we will certainly see what we can do with some canonical characters, (oh the fun I could have as Jaime Wolf or even Nicolai Malthus.) We've mostly focused on having some fun with neutral factions such as ComStar. ;)

You have a funny idea of Neutral there Nik!

All I care about at this point is when can I, as mercenary scum in the company of a purely capital driven group of other mercenary scum, be explicitly paid by X group to kill Y group.

To me that is the extent of the RP I'm looking for the ability for Peter to pay me to Kill Paul so we can all take Paul's stuff..

I though roleplaying is this:

- poking every FRR player for having no home
- labeling every marik player for being in teamkilling business
- laughing about the liaos

- ???

- profit!

So that begs the question who is going to pay to assault and take the Hyperpulse. I don't have an axe to grind or anything, it just sounds like a sweet contract. ;)

Maybe, but I like to keep the dream alive.

Life was more interesting when they were around. MWO drops were like a box of chocolates you never knew which ones were going to Squawk... or something...you know what i mean.

And just as was the case when the re-seen were coming back and I ran up and down the halls of the office screaming "Phoenix!" like a lunatic, you can rest assured I will do the same for the Scorpion at PGI offices when we plan any massive Dev Vs Players event. ;)

Hey, they seem friendly enough, they just wanted to give me a pamphlet.

I think I missed the book where a bunch of Mercs surrounded Victor and knocked his mech down over and over for teh lulz.

... or anyone else, for that matter. I guess Paul would be... Thomas Marik? (THE MASTER!)

No wonder he went bad (Thomas Marik, not Paul :)).
