3/3/3/3 Is A Lie.

My friends and I played perhaps a dozen games last night, in a 3-4 man group. For most of the night, we ran 3 Jenners and a Hunchback. In 2 of the games, a 4th Jenner was assigned to our side - in both instances, an Oxide variant, and in one of those instances, the 4th Jenner was assigned to our pre-made lance - in addition to the spider assigned to yet another lance.

it is due to be patched today, usual patch times

edit: on reading the second one the hotfix has nothing to do with fixing 3/3/3/3, no idea when that will be fixed

Huh. Well, if nothing else, they're consistent. At least we can pick the game mode, that's something.
If only they'd allow a "choose your map" kind of deal for the PUG drops....as sort of a "if I have 24 for Alpine, I'll work with that" sort of thing. Oh well, gotta sucker us out of our cash somehow. Clans sure aren't doing it.

So...half-finished, not field tested nearly enough, released with known issues so it can be called "a work in progress" that they are "working on" and will release a hot-fix "as soon as possible?"
C'mon, man, are you new here? Seriously?
Were you really expecting anything less? One thing about PGI...they're nothing if not consistent.

I'm a software dev, and I know exactly what would happen to me if I didn't push a functional update/software solution on time.
I'm tempted to try stretching out the development using PGI's excuses just to see how far it would get me. Think I'd have to opt for another job in the process, just to save my career.

What's with the personal attack ?
I simply pointed out the OFFICIAL reason why that feature was deactivated. I did not include any opinion on it, at all.

Nah, man, it wasn't a personal attack. Or at least, it wasn't intended to be. I'm just saying that it is what it is. It's nothing new...some things have improved over time but...too little, too late. And, again, what was delivered was broken. Doesn't matter to me, I'm still here and I'm still playing. I wish it were better but I haven't come to expect PGI to deliver what they say when they say they're going to deliver it. You just take it with a grain of salt and move on. It's frustrating as hell, but, what're you going to do?

And, I get it, man. Someone that invested heavily (ie: some kind of contract as opposed to random donations and monthly contributions) in the game is going to want certain milestones/productivity report sort of thing so, things that take priority may not be what everyone in general thinks.
So...and here's one for you, we've all seen this happen a million times....why not release the source code to the community and let people come up with "Mods" to the game. Sure, you'll see a bunch of crap Minecraft Mechwarrior nonsense, but you just might get someone to actually fix the damn thing for them......most likely for free. Think about Counter Strike and Team Fortress...both those games were improved upon by the community mods...hell, they were both mods to Half-Life. Look how that turned out. Valve bought the rights to both once they'd gone through a HUGE beta stage...then retailed them. Huh...how about that.
But, again, please don't misunderstand. I get it. Completely new territory for a game company, not really ready for the online interaction with the community, miscommunications and downright lies, game released as complete before it really was, no real beta testing process, patches released break more than they fix....all of these things add up to a complete disaster. It's like hunting Moose with a plastic fork. These guys are WAY out of their league. Add to that the complete PR disaster this game has become within the 'net gaming community?
You'll pardon me if I'm just a wee bit sarcastic about the "state of the game" stuff I see and hear. I don't have a whole lot of faith in these guys. They've done some cool stuff here...the basic game engine is pretty sweet. It's all the mechanics and nonsense that seems to be way too complicated at times.

Tell us how you really feel about it, don't hold back.
On second thought....DON'T.
