How can you choose match type now they split into two Private and Public, I only want to play Skirmish?

Choosing the match type (assault, conquest, skirmish) got broken (somehow) in yesterday's patch.

A hotfix to fix this is planned for today.

Uh.. For 30+ drops into 5 AM this morning it was working perfectly fine.
Choose Public, then the match type. I kept going for conquest and assault for screenshots (Skirmish keeps too many enemies too close together).

*Goes to check now.* See below; apparently it was only working for groups (as I didn't drop solo til so late that I didn't care or notice).

When I was playing this morning (~6am Eastern) it wasn't working.

Well, this sucks. I guess wait for the hot fix?

Typically any patches that occur happen right around 5 minutes from this edit, so any minute now the game will shut down for that hotfix.
