Hi Ladies and Gents, I have encountered a strange problem which has only happened to me today. After selecting a Mech from your Mech Bay I then proceeded to find a game. So I selected 'Skirmish' and proceeded, Searching, Connecting then The Map Loading Screen with the Map Name and details. However after that I get a Black Screen the one you normally get sometimes before getting into the game however mine was not the normal several seconds but up to 5 minutes or more.

Of course I exited out and started the client again but it happened twice in a row, third time I got lucky and got in-game no problem however my main Mech and one trial Mech was in-game which is a problem to take notice. The problem still persists after my Mechs are back from 'in-game' and here I am telling you about this issue to see if anyone has a fix or an answer to solve this problem.

I presume the fix would be "wait until next patch" or "yeah... this patch caused this, you'll have to wait."

-Thank you for your time and patience.

I've had this issue constantly for every match I try to get into, and have sent a ticket to support to see if they could help.

One thing that does seem to work is deleting the shaders folder (drive:\MWO folder\USER\Shaders).

Delete your shaders folder again then add this line to your user.cfg. it may solve your problem.

r_ShadersAsyncCompiling=0

Alright thanks. I appreciate the help. I will see if it fixes it. What I speculate though is that I have multitasks running and MWO which requires good full attention to connect to, hence the blackscreen maybe because you are downloading something. Only a speculation because it happens when other programs which use internet.

My experience with this issue seem to be connection related. Rebooting my modem / router and obtaining a new IP (I'm on dynamic IP) fixes this issue for me most of the time.

Hat tip to xengk for the suggestion.

Don't think it's an internet problem now. Idk, I have nothing else running and I still get a black screen.

Had the same issue. Mine appeared to be ISP related (traffic management policy) so used a VPN client until I could switch. Used Cyberghost and worked ok, albeit my ping doubled while I used it

when this happens to me I just wait for few sec and then all come back as it should be.
I never thought that it is some kind of problem, I always thought it is as it should be, since it is always before I need to hit ready button
