Mediums are still the most challenging class to run. But that can also make them the most rewarding in terms of pilot skill and personal satisfaction.

Tip: You need to decide from the outset what role they will play - generally, Light killer, Assault escort, LRM fire support, or at a pinch, "light brawler" - and build to that specification.

I know, that makes sense. It's just that I am enjoying the mobility of the Jenner, so was thinking of something faster.

I thought you got a Griffin at one point. o.O;

You are confusing me with another pilot, Sir ! :P

Orion & Jenner + Thunderbold 9s + misery & Illia. That's it.

Anyway, thx a lot fo all the pointers. I think I will go either Shadow hawk, Raven or finishing the Stalker line (have to check which one to pick, since the F seems too much like the Misery).

Shoot straight

You could also think of grinding through the Cataphracts, though if you're looking for faster, I would suggest Ravens and Shads as you've said. For the Stalker, out of the 5; 3F (torso twist), 3H (only if you want missiles), 4N (if you're out of money), 5M (extra missile slot and zombie laser slot), and 5S (double AMS) all work, but 3F, 5M, and 5S are generally more suited to completion (3H if you want missiles). My own personal builds for both the Shads and Ravens are here:
RVN-2X: 2xER LL 1xAMS
RVN-3L: 2xSSRM2 2xML 1xTAG
RVN-4X: 1xAC20
SHD-2D: 1xAC10 3xMPL
SHD-2D2: 3xSRM6 1xSRM4 2xML
SHD-2H: 3xMG 3xSSRM2 1xLPL
SHD-2K: 1xER PPC 1xTAG 3xALRM5
SHD-5M: 2xAC5 2xML

Thx a lot Luxebo for all the info.

I got the Stalker F, still not sure which 3rd one I will take. Maybe the 5M

About the Raven, you don't have the Huginn ?

Huginn has a few interesting builds. Basically anything you can think of for an Ember and/or Firestarter, you can do to a Huginn for fun.

Made a new build today. Found it humorous. Had several successful matches of similar results to these.
XL 220 engine. LB-10x, 1 MG, 4 SL. 1 ton of ammo per weapon. No jumpjets. Both played solo.

Below, I spent most of my time wandering off by myself, throwing orders on the battlegrid to coordinate the team, and vulturing any enemies I could isolate and/or coming in to save the day by getting behind the enemies and pulling out soon as I'm noticed.

I wound up being the last one alive too. We lost an Atlas super early (he was totally abandoned) and a commando 2D disconnected mid-match (I was running to it to use its ECM to help conceal myself from my two pursuers so that I could pick them off one at a time. One, a Locust, the other a Thunderbolt in great shape. But, someone was arguing with me in chat, and when I went to respond I couldn't turn while being shot at.).

About the Raven, you don't have the Huginn ?

I didn't quite get it (tested in public test server, but don't have it), but if you decide to get it, it is basically a hero 4X that can be armed with that AC20, though there are other builds I heard for it like dual ACs, multiple MGs and SRMs, and even LRMs.

BTW, speaking of heroes, I heard the next one is a Quickdraw with ballistics... I'm interested. I played the Quickdraw as a trial (the patch before champion trials), and I heard of ON1-K(C) will appear with a HGN-733C(C) build (2xLL 1xAC10 2xSSRM2 w/ STD300).

An AC/20 on a Huginn, seems fun to me, but looks difficult to build. How much ammo do you take 3t ? It's going to be a slow mech, if a light find you you are toast.... but I think I want to try :P

Ravens and Firestarters ain't brawly enough you say? Well say hello to these: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b1a1cf3eefa5a71 http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d2fb8f32ae77fda

But well written post, though I think the OP should go finish up the Stalkers, as he already has the Misery, which is a beast on the field. Something that could be considered later I guess. :P

Brawly is relative if you have extreme skill.

To be effective at a lower experience and skill level while brawling, I would try to stear a newer player to something called a brawler in the traditional sense.
Man I have seen some nasty lights and mediums brawl and maul my Atlas, but usually it is the opponent's play, not the mech, that wears me fown...... I have gotten as high as 900 damage and 7 kills in my Commando, but I have seen Ravens, Jenners, Spiders, Cicadas, etc, do massive things!!!

If you want to brawl, or find yourself brawling all the time, pick an assault, or heavy. If you can learn how to inflict and live, you will make yourself better with every other weight class by this skill and knowledge. ?

To do the dance in slo mo, give the juke, then rake the foe, shake their shot, to chain all youz got, alpha to gamble the pot, they will never ignore thee, for it would be at their peril! And in peril, panick breeds!
So stand fast, take the hits, scream, IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!!!
Then, boom, you hit them, if they are not down, they are shakin. Sure your buddy takes him down, but that's ok, he is your buddy, this drop anyhow;^)

Atlas, Stalker, Victor, Muromets, Highlander.
If you can dance an Atlas at 60 kph, you are a better Jenner pilot in the end.( Evil little things)

That depends on what you have for backup weapons. 3 tons is "21" shots. Need to pick and choose carefully when to fire. Backing it up with some MGs can help, but it wont' scare anyone away. Another choice is to use an AC/5 + some MGs + some streaks (or replace streaks with speed; or replace MGs with streaks).

But at 97 kph I've found it very easy to escape most mechs and those lights that are faster? Well they tend to get over confident and slow down or even stop. Then they die.

I have 3 full tons, a completely disabled right arm (no armor) and basically something like I posted in earlier post (which was quoted in the above post). It carries the XL 210 because of the C-bill issue. RVN-3L stock gets XL 210, which is nice and cheaper. You could get a lower engine (like XL 190 which can also be used on Locusts if you wish), so you can arm more ammo or lasers. 4X and Huginn can run exactly same build type.

Generally those two builds I posted are meant as support brawlers. If you can use the Shad/Blackjack/Treb 7K to basically be a walking AC20 fighters, you can use the Raven/Firestarter as a support brawler, with the same utility. Mostly they were just supposed to be sorta jokes to the guy that I posted to. :P They are not meant to head on with heavies and assaults.

Sorry, is a huggin a hunchie?
If so, any ac 20 is always a high priority target. Unless one is very skilled, or knows who he or she is playing with for protection, I would stay away, unless it is just for fun. And yes, it is fun, till a Highlander, Stalker, Jenner, say kill the ac 20!. Lol

Jenners, evil little things

Huginn is a Raven hero mech.

Screwing around with random joke builds on the public test server.
