I remember back in my MWL days and me and whatever unit i was with at the time would be hanging around on team speak waiting for people to show up for a match against another well organized unit for team vs team or McRugby or CTF, we would occasionally have somebody in our team that couldn't show up for RL issues and sometimes we had to wait on the other team we were getting ready to fight for the same reasons.

How i saw this problem dealt with in these league match situations is that we could call up people/friends that we know who were either "lonewolves" for the lack of a better term, or members of other teams to fill in for us.

Since there is an economy system in place for MWO, wouldn't it be cool if there were a similar situation like this to arise after release where a MWL type of online competitive gaming league were to form and if i call up one of my friends or somebody i know who is rolling with another unit to fill in a slot, that i would have the ability to "convince" them to fight for us by offering them ingame C-bills?

Things like this happen all the time in EvE online. I remember getting paid millions of ingame money on EvE online for recruiting for different teams that i wasn't even a member of, lol. I just did it so i didn't have to mine so much.

I don't know if it's possible to do this already for MWO but it would be awesome if there were a system in place where one player could have the ability to pay the other player, and/or buy/sell and trade with the player for Mechs/Weapons and stuff...on TOP of buying mechs/equipment/weapons from whatever players would purchase them from by default. If it works for EvE, it might work for MWO. I think even Star Trek: Online has something like this.

In the Factions forum somebody has started a Lone Wolf site/forum fr this very idea. I believe that Lone Wolfs will sign up and be chosen for the situations you've talked about.
I'm not sure how in depth their forum is, or will be, but there was talk about feedback on the abilities of the mechjock.
It seems like a very good idea.
