@Flaming: Discos are so normal in this instable game that you can do nothing but the best out of the Situation. For me it doesn't matter if i win or lose anymore, it's the situations in game that matters for me. (too many mechs, too many `the same Thing´, too less to achive) Even if i lose i can have an awsome game, with very outstanding duels and Group fights.

And you can imagine your Feelings winning 2 men down ;)

I love Urban style maps, so Crimson and River city are the ones i love the most. Still hoping that one day, PGI will release Urban style city, with size of Alpine or Tourmaline.

Terra Therma is the one i dislike the most, but not because of high heat temperature, but mainly because the king of the hill design of the map, when everyone just tries to be first in center, and then others blocking the paths trying to fight for center from the worst strategical positions.

I'm fine with other maps, but i wish they made changes to bounds a bit. Some of the bounds make maps pretty drastically limited (such as crimson straight) leaving soo much nice locations of the maps unused.

For me, Canyon Network is probably my favorite.

It's mix of cover, the different ways the map can be played, good visibility, and, of course, the trash dump to remind everyone just how big of jerks people are in the Mechwarrior universe, all make it a very fun map for me.

Runner up: Tourmaline. For mostly the same reasons. the different ways the map can be played, good visibility, plenty of cover but not too much, etc..

worst map...yup, you guessed it, Terra Therma. I mean, it IS a great looking map. Aa very neat concept, But it's so dark and dull. and when you combine all the mountains you're constantly walking around, with the central volcano that everyone gravitates toward, making the map play the same practically every time, put is at the bottom of the list for me.

Runner up: HPG. again...it looks great and is a great concept. But it also has the big central object that seems to dominate the game play.

just my 2 cents. what do you all think?

Favorite: Alpine (big, open, and available for all manners of play despite people not thinking so)

Worst: Tie between Canyon (yay, more fighting at the elbow/I got stuck on yet another rock?) and Terra Therma (pugzapper)

Favorite: HPG Manifold - I think it's got the most interesting availability of cover, with enough room to make response time actually matter according to mech size.

Least favorite: Alpine - If only because I feel like one team is massively disadvantaged...one side has a much easier time taking "the hill" first...and if they retreat to the Tower, the opposing side has only one approach available that isn't getting them NAILED by turret-fire. I still enjoy playing the map...but I feel like it's poorly balanced.

And @ Sharp Tooth... Sometimes a battle does not take place in the convenient place. So since its a war game the terrain should not always be a good place to fight. Other than that A 65 ton Robot should not be stopped by outdoor plumbing! :)

You guys misunderstand my point. I do not care if i have the wrong mech for the wrong map.

There is a few maps that look like theyve been created in one afternoon. I dont know whats simpler, the game itself or some of the maps? I cant imagine what the were thinking when they made alpine. Just no thought put into it AT ALL! They started with a wide open space and decided... we'll put a hill here, another hill here... a few more hills here.... BAM $250k in our employee's pockets, we didnt even have to put our thinking caps on, and if we do this once every three months it will look like we're actually working on a game.

There was no thought about how these maps will work with CW. There is just no thought put into this project AT ALL!

The only thing that theytake seriously is their fancy ad's and marketing strategies for the things they sell!

Its so obvious, and that is why i refuse to play the garbage maps. They know theyre garbage, they are not even taking this game seriously, so why should i take every map seriously? They can bloody well live with it if people disconnect from dumbest looking maps i have ever seen in a video game. End of story
