Are there any damage meters for MWO? Rating weapons and tactics is a lot of guess work with the only tool being weapon stats recorded by PGI. Any detailed damage meters adaptable to MWO to get a real picture of how good a weapon is and how much damage is being done to which targets?

Since the damage is all applied server-side, wouldn't you need a server hack to get hard, detailed numbers?

It should be pretty obvious, weapons do a exact amount, the only variables being long range and lasers.
but no, no programs can interact with mwo like that. And any that do are against the EULA, so you can be banned for using them.

No.
There are no mods for MWo as of yet, nothing of the likes you will get with WoT, and I am unsure that there will ever be. Only time will tell but at this time, there are NO mods available.

None for in game. You can however use smurfy's weapons lab to see some interesting info regarding your mech's load out like max dps, cooling, etc.

Stats recorded by MWO are worthless anyways. Their data collection is shit.

First example: no matches played, but somehow have 16 hits?

Next example:

Been using a Gauss K2, I have only used the K2 in the dual gauss. It has played 18 matches, yet my new gauss stats only show 6 matches. What is interesting it is saying in 6 matches I have fired 595 shots or 99.167 shots per match. Even if you were to say it is taking into account that I was using 2 at a time, that would be almost 50 shots per match per gauss. I only carry 6 tons in pug matches, which is only 30 shots per rifle in ammo.

The point, even if you could get damage numbers from the server I would assume it would be similar to the data used for their stats, and has major issues in data collection. To the point I would nearly call them worthless.

if we had variable damage on weapons, this might be needed. However we do not, and damage is a fixed number. A Large Laser deals 9 damage over a 1 sec interval, and ballistics deal all of there damage per a slug fired. Its all there, the only difference is when you "sweep" the legs of a light or whatever with a laser. You know your missing most of your damage, but you are trying to get at least SOME damage onto that little pest of a light mech.

That's nothing. Somehow, my TAG says I've done over 1,000 damage firing it. You know, the laser designator. That does no damage. :( Made me laugh though, so that's something.

With the amount of stats the system already records I don't see why they can't just put in a detailed post drop report in your stats screen. The data is already their, any cost can easily be covered by making it Premium Time only, and I wouldn't think it would be that hard to implement as they already port some of it over for your current stat updates..

Range (optimal / max), tick time, terrain, splash damage, AMS (for missiles), crits, internal damage, hitting destroyed components (damage transfer), and I think I'm forgetting something...

Regardless, that's at least 6 things, and up to 8+ that affect final damage results.
Throw in that it also remembers decimals too, and it's not really all that simple.
