I was doing 4v4 and getting a minimum of 60-90fps all settings on very high whereas normally I am getting 25-40 avg of 30 wirh many settings on low.
I also noticed that in the normal pug game my GPU throttles but in the lobby it is constantly on it's full core clock speed. I am also getting better GPU utilization 75-99%.
So again I hope a dev reads this and they look into the matter as smooth gameplay is brilliant!

MINIMUM PRIVATE LOBBY FPS : 60-100 ( 8 PLAYERS ) GPU USAGE: 75-99%
AVERAGE FPS PUG : 24-35 (24 PLAYERS ) GPU USUAGE: 25-40%

So, you're getting better FPS in a private match with fewer mechs than in a PuG with 24?

When the Remnant spent all Saturday doing private lobbies, the first thing we noticed was everyone, everyone was getting 60-150 frames in MechWarrior.

That is an astounding performance increase, however I suspect that it is more to do with having not 24 mechs on the field. We were mostly playing [5v5] - [9v9], avoiding maps like Frozen City, and Forest Colony.

A lot of crimson straights was played that day, and we all rejoiced in our <insert mech class only> brawls.

Yea it's probably a factor indeed but IMO the GPU should be fully utilized in all situations. The difference is amazing, I think it shouldn't be that wide of a gap.

Yup fewer mehcs but crazy difference.

Just understand that since the CPU is being used heavily (whether you feel the game is optimized or not), not much can be spared for the video as a result.

That's what makes whatever future NVidia driver update seemingly so important. CPU relief will improve GPU usage even though not all games will benefit equally. This game is extremely CPU demanding, so that becomes an issue really.

60%+ less is a bit much.

You're not doing anything complex in the mechlab, thus there's more freed up CPU cycles for your video card.

I still think MWO's CPU usage is out of whack, but that's besides the point.

Mechlab? this is in private lobby matches vs pug less mechs yes but the difference is pretty big.

It's the same thing.

More mechs on the field = more things to keep track of (CPU, network) = more to render (CPU, GPU) = moar, moar, moar.

Although, I honestly wonder how efficient the threading that MWO is doing, because it always closed with a "runaway thread" on exit.

I wouldn't mind a few frames but min 55-60 down to 22-25 is loads.

I get the EXACT SAME THING.

In private matches I can have 8, 10 or 12 people... very high settings, full screen 1920x1080 and I get vsync'd fps limited to 65 fps all the time.

In public matches, 12 people, full screen 1920x1080, very high, high, medium settings... all the time 25-35 fps.

What is going on?
Why cant I have the 65fps I know I can get on my computer ALL the time????
