With only a week since the last patch (normally a 2 week cycle, boys!) we should only be expecting a few urgent fixes, and if we're good little mechwarriors, a new hero mech.

I'd been on the fence all weekend, but he's earned some dap.

Even if I don't like everything he's saying, at least he's trying and that's more than I can say for a lot of people. Kudos to you on that Niko.

Might I suggest instead of reading what the developers said (since the article is by Piranha Games) and penny-arcade.posted, that you check out the tutorials on map making for Cry engine 3 to see how hard it really is to make a map especially if you are not doing destructible interments. Hell I have been knocking down trees and buildings in World of Tanks since the closed beta and that is a crap engine compared to Cry 3/

It is a shame that MWO isnt half the game that Paul, Garth and Russ hyped it up to be.

Because they can only do one thing at a time... Art department have been tied up building Clan 'mechs :(
Gameplay/Backend have been on UI2.0 and Launch Module etc.

One of those has been rolling out... The other is due out!

Why is it that after months of hard work by professionals with years of experience we still have so many terrain issues on these maps? So many places where you get stuck. So many places your shots get blocked by invisible terrain. :(

because mechs and mech sales are more important then fixing bugs and working on community warfare, and quality of life stuff

and since i was right about it being more garbage we don't want i found a better cartoon then my usual carrot on a stick with a pitchfork...

Just release some simple giant maps that can be played with faster mechs.... at least the size of alpine. Cant be to hard to do a map with a lot of trees and hills.
Whats wrong with a map called Rolling Hills? Or a map that plays in a strip mine!?!!? Or a river delta with DEEEEEP Rivers , you know like underwater shit and hidding in it?!?! . UNDERWATER HIDING?! (when you are at it implement water breaches == section destroyed) What about a desert map in the day with lots of visual distortion due to heat and dunes that make every mech slower?
What about a moon surface map with lots of tunnels ?Called Moon Outpost? OK i agreee to make this cool you need some more assets . BUT you dont need the colorful electric flowers that the HPG station features. You know the ones when you enter the station from the outside? No offense to the designers, they like to do that stuff, but dont go overboard with this fluff. This game is about shooting mechs, weapon fire, smoke , explosions and twisted mech carcases.
I noticed these first time after playing the map 50 times.

You know PGI, it is not needed to make just pretty maps (disputeable anyway), environmental effects are fun too.

Just make some simple map with some fun tactical or strategic things to do on. Not just maps full off chockes.

How about simple big map called Plain of Molten Steel? You know, no cover , both teams have only open ground? Charge and die?
