Greetings,

First, after you upgraded to Win 7 did you do the windows updates from there site?
- Is your new system 32 or 64 bit?
- Did you install the correct 32 or 64 bit Net a C++ updates?

There may be multiple reasons as to why you might receive 0xc00007b error when trying to run an application on a windows machine. 0xc000007b error usually comes from mixing up 32bit environment with 64bit one. For example 32bit application loads a 64bit dll causing 0xc000007b error.

Download for 64bit C++:
http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=14632
DX update to download some missing files:
http://www.microsoft...aylang=en&id=35

Next have you additionally installed the older DX9c drivers?
- Win 7 does not install these older Dx drivers any more.
And is the new install of MWO running as an admin install?

Quite a few 'solutions' to this error code indicate a failure from windows in accessing some of it's own files or locations.
Indicating a corruption of some of it's own install files, or hard drive locations.
1. Run a disk defrag program through your hard drives.
2. Run an up to date virus scan program through the system.
3. Run an up to date malware program. (something like Spybot search and destroy)

Try those and return with results.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. I'm still getting the 0xc000007b error, even after installing (x64 versions of) all visual C++ redistributables and running the DX update (both offline and web versions, from this thread and others). I can play in x86 (32-bit) mode but that's not an ideal solution. Any ideas on what i might be doing wrong or missing?

Worth noting I had zero problems running on my 64-bit Win 7 machine. On this clean-build 64-bit Win 10 machine, however...

Thanks.

I'm having the same issue as Bluesmith. No probplems on my previous W7 64bit but still get the 0xc000007b error on W10 64bit. I've also tried instaling C++ and running update on DX. This is the only program having this issue.

As a side note it did run for a short period of time right after innitially installing the W10 OS, was away from the game for a few months so it was a surprise that it didnt work when I came back and was excited to get back in...now after spending 10+hrs trying to get it to run i'm getting much less so...I love the game, any help is greatly appreciated.

I tried everything I could on this thread. Could only get it to force start on 32 bit, even though my Win7 runs on 64.
Updated all files - C++, .NET, DirectX 9, and also upgraded to Win10. Did chkdsk. Re-Installed (by redownloading the massive 8GB) MWO two times. Nothing worked for 3 days of trying.

No it is RAM 600 hz witch is so old that its uncapable for massive memory transfer speeds as the DRAM and online massive multiplayer requerments the latest 8/16/32 Gbits of DDRM3 or some ( rich ) have 8/16/32 Gbits of DDRM4 are at least 12 000 GHz fast so theres no issues in MWO. RAM is more like a Scooter of the 90s.

Hello,

I have the same problem and it makes me mad ! Posted Image No solution works for me. I tried everything. Reinstall, install all DirectX, Service Packs etc. I also downloaded the game via Steam... the game does not start. Maybe the developers should try to fix it in a patch... Sad thing is that I played this game and really loved it. The problem occured suddenly for me.

Please do something. I also see that people on Steam forum report the same issue.

What OS are you using? For some, uninstalling 2010 C++, both 64x and 86x then reinstalling them fixed their issue. Also make sure that with Windows updates to install the recommended downloads too.

If you still have steam installed, then go to Program Files (x86), Steam, SteamApps, common, Mechwarrior Online, _CommonRedist and run all 4 programs in the 3 directories, rebooting after each install. Then go to Windows Update, check for updates, download and install both critical and recommended. Reboot and recheck again.

Before starting the game, go to your Saved Games, Mechwarrior Online folder and delete game.cfg
