Just a few minutes ago i joined a game, skirmish mode.
The match started and we got that red message "services [...]blahblah are going down in 10 minutes".

And everyone on the team was concentrated, we made full enemy contact in the first two minutes, the game was over in about 7 after a pretty intense fight.

I think a new feature would be a random shutdown every hour, coz this game actually made WAY more fun than those [redacted] up peekaboo matches, where people blob up, hide and block themselves for 7,8 minutes until they start to trickle into enemy fire out of pure boredom. Yep.

I half like your idea because it needs some tweaking. Lets take a page from the FTL (faster than light) playbook and have solar radiation / EMP pulses be a factor.

WARNING: SOLAR FLARE IMMINENT blah blah blah WHOOOOOOSH everyone takes 1 damage (accumulating) to every section, or ... certian weapons such as energy are inopperable for x amount of seconds.

Besides "escort missions" , time limits are about the most grating thing when it comes to single player games but they sure do make competitive multiplayer matches interesting.

Given no AI, as it is an Online Multi "Player" game, who is escorting what exactly? Just curious is all.

It's an industry term. Also, most matchs revolve around "Escorting" the DDC. Those who don't... fail hard. Considering how much gamers loathe escort quests... its no wonder pug matches end up the way they do.

yep a random short time game once in awhile would make for some fun furball brawling ;)
