It's already

Just bought mine, we're at around 15.6k purchases.
Even at the $30 mark (and it seems there are rather plenty of elite and legendaries) that's a whooping just shy under half a million.
And there's probably plenty more purchasing and later RMT shopping to be expected.

So, IGP, MWO's future is looking bright with much cash infusion to fund development, you better not disappoint. Lots of loaded warriors out there armed to the teeth and not too shy on squeezing the trigger eh, Quaff? :)

I wonder how much of this money is going back into the game, profit is great but greed will destroy everything

It is likely that the first round or two (several millions) will go to recuperating back the development costs. Profit will be afterwards with a certain percentage likely invested back onto the game.

If they know what's good for them... :)

From user reported sales as well as the poll showing most purchased at $120, with almost the remainder $60, it would be a huge opportunity lost if PG didn't post a press release tomorrow boasting of their incredibly successful first day presales figures. They got the heat and they need to keep it burning till launch.

Problem is that those receipt numbers are confirmed by the staff as not being linear, if thats what your basing your numbers off.

I hope they pull this off in a manner that builds on the hype and broadens the player base in both dedicated player base and first time players.

They really need to hit the advertisement now. I had seen the old mechwarrior reboot vid on youtube(the one with the warhammer and the atlas) a while back. But, I didn't know squat about this game until 2 weeks ago when I felt like dusting off Star Siege and decided to scour the internet to see if there was a reboot of that old franchise planned.

This. Order number: 15,321 does not equate to a total of 15,321 sum total units ordered. The progression is NON-linear.
