How is the MatchMaker supposed to work within CW anyhow?
It's not as if a person will have an easier time (up against easier opponents) conquering a planet just because they're in a low ELO bracket.

At some point, matchmaker will receive a revamp and support things like dropships (choosing 4 mechs), respawn, and match voting - all necessary for CW.

Huh? Sure you can fight over "different" worlds. And you can make your own economy. ( Of course people would have to play the public queue to get cbills and stuff) Also where did I say anything about a matchmaking system? I know a lot of you guys are lazy but you can find leagues right now and PLAY in them.

And it will come. And that ruleset isn't even possible in MWO.

Jeez you guys complain about it not being like closed beta anymore and this is why. You guy just want MORE. Let them fix what they have.

We don't want "More" we want what was on the table when we bought our founders packs. We want the things that convinced us to plop down cash sight unseen.

I did not spend hundreds of dollars on COD: Mechwarrior. I did not support endless deathmatches. I supported MWO as what it was sold to me as.

We have a right to be frustrated, impatient and angry about it. I want balance and polishing as much as the next guy but I want CW more.

Ugh.. Well I hope it doesn't include respawns... That's going to kill MWO - especially if it's included in the "main" part of the game.

Pretty sure that was only for the asymmetric "Attack/Defend" component, but honestly, what do I know.

Maps > Stable & balanced game > CW > Mech's

In that order, not up for discussion.

Community Warfare is not eSports, which private matches lead to. I did not get into MWO for Solaris.

Yep. There is no doubt that the community can create a rocking Planetary league, several in fact. They've done it before.

We want an MWO Planetary Warfare deal. Only if PGI cannot deliver, should we be forced to make our own league.

Think EVE. Hyperiums. We want real planets to own, gloat over, and plan around. I am afraid the our Dev's want to have DOTA and Starcraft type E-Sports...

WHICH IS FINE!!! As an Aside, to the main thing... y'know, the fight for Terra.

and more is the pity since that attitude had closed the wallets of a large group of people who would rather be launching cash at PGI with catapaults (the medieval kind) if they actually gave us the game they said they were planning on making.

And it's coming. It's called patience, get some. I would rather have them optimize the game first and then make a kickass CW.

And yet here we are discussing it.

It's funny you seem to have the impression your opinions are somehow facts.

(Its sarcasme, portraying the same kind of narrowmindedness((ish) which PGI is currently displaying))

What I think is irrelevant it seems, since it is Microsoft hand-fisting PGI into doing what they want, from the darkness behind.

Just an FYI:

The rumor is that some of the old players from previous MW titles have begun working on a new, improved NBT now that private match module is in the game..

My apologies then, it could have easily being someone just been idiotic (we get a lot of that around here).

I don't necessarily believe MS is pulling any real strings, though it's possible a source of a number of the truly stupid things MWO has done in the last couple years could be attributed to IGP putting pressure on PGI.

From what I've gathered so far in terms of impressions, it would't be far-fetched if Microsoft has put a hidden-qouta of income onto PGI in order to fill in those ****** console sales this year.

I really couldn't disagree more with the OP's point. Private lobbies are a great improvement, and we can have some fun with them. But tournaments and eSports really are for less than 1% of the community. The average player and/or the average MWO unit has little to no interest in tournaments and the competitive aspect of this game as it exists now.

I'm not sure that the average player in this game has even the slightest clue just how niche the current competitive scene is in this game. If you REALLY think that private lobbies and tournaments are ANY form of CW for the vast majority that want it, I challenge you to grab 11 of your friends and drop in the 12's Queue during prime time and see just how long you can keep your group together. You'll get totally curbstomped by pro meta teams time and time again, all the while being taunted as it happens. It's LITERALLY the equivalent of taking your 12-man group of Fantasy Football owners down to the nearest NFL stadium and taking on your NFL team of choice. See how long that's fun for.

CW is about providing a meaningful structure for players of all abilities and time commitments to play within. The competitive scene, which is ALL that Launch Module is for, is NOT.

The Microsoft angle would be an explanation for 3pv/ lack of integrated VOIP and alaunch party for what is basically still an alpha.

It all fits so nicely together don't you think?

Wee bit too convenient if you ask me...
